Vintage Tell City Chair Company 1776 Floral Pattern Hanging Wall Plaque A3701 Vintage Tell City Chair Company 1776 Floral Pattern Hanging Wall Plaque A3701 Here we have a vintage Tell City Chair Co. 1776 wall plaque. Featuring a floral pattern under the year"1776" The finish was Tell City's#63 Antique Brown, and the pattern is A3701. I've never seen another one of these. But I'm not a huge Tell City fountain of knowledge, either. In good overall condition for its' age(I would think this piece was probably made in the 60's or 70's) It does show some wear at the corners and edges. There is one larger scratch in the finish on the BACK of the plaque, beside the two mounting screws that hold the wood"handle" on the front of the plaque. Speaking of which. I've researched this piece, but have not been ... moreable to figure out what its' purpose was. Most Tell City wall plaques were actually candle sconces, but there is no place to"put" a candle on this piece. If you have more knowledge about this item, please drop me a line and let me know what this was really used for, or if it was purely and simply only for decoration. The plaque measures 25 inches long. 5 1/4 inches wide, and about 11/16" thick. The"handle" on the front. When viewed from the side, almost appears to be an elongated animal of some sort. There is even a hole going through the"head" that would appear to be in the right location to be an eye, but perhaps I'm just being anthropomorphic. Or, perhaps this is actually a coat or umbrella rack. Overall. This is a gorgeous piece of furniture that needs a new home- it won't fit in with my own home decor. Vintage Tell City Chair Company 1950's Candle Holder Pattern 4714
Up for auction is a vintage candle holder by Tell City. The candle is spring loaded to keep it up as it burns down. It is removeable from the wall holder so you can walk around holding the candle. It says finish is weathered brass and pattern is 4714. This has been used and has candle wax and some pitting and tarnishing on surface. Thanks Steven.

Tell City Co. bun warmer There are two marks in the clear finish; one on the handle and one where the metal handle contacts the edge of the box(see 5th picture) The finish also has some very fine scratches in the clear coat(may be hard to see in pictures) The metal handle is slightly offset from the wood handle when opened(see picture) I believe that the metal is copper. This is an EXTREMELY RARE FIND Vintage Wall Mountable Magazine Rack Early American/ Colonial* Has Original Tell City Chair Label Pattern#3170 Finish#48 Measures 19" inches from Tip of Trim to Bottom of Trim on the Piece that Mounts to Wall. Measures 17" inches at Widest Point, Front Rail measures right at 5.50" inches at top when pulled out from wall. Piece has a few little nicks and scratches and I think the leather pieces that hold rails out from the wall piece need to be replaced however; I am not an expert and do not want to compromise the piece by doing so. This is a Tell City Chair Co Skeleton Key Lamp in great condition. Beautiful craftsmanship and design. For more information on the Tell City Chair Co and it's rich history see below information: Closely identified with the history of Tell City is the Tell City Chair Company. Still in operation, started business in November 1865, seven years after Tell City was founded. The original name was“Chair Makers’ Union. a name retained until April 1, 1924 when the“Tell City Chair Company” title was adopted. The company was organized as a cooperative concern, with most of the stockholders being employees. It was said that in the beginning these employees made the chairs during the day, carried them home in the evening, and with the assistance of their families wove the double can seat, and then brought the chairs back the next morning. This business ... morefirst occupied a small frame structure located in the 400 block of Seventh Street. This building was destroyed by a fire in 1881. And two months later was replaced by a one-story brick building which was part of Factory# 1, on Seventh Street between Humboldt and Pestazozzi Streets. In 1885. Reorganization concentrated the business into a partnership consistent of A. P. Fenn, J. Wiesenberger and G. Walter. This reorganization was immediately followed by a marked improvement in every detail of the concern, and old machinery was replaced with new and improved machinery. After this reorganization A.P. Fenn took charge of the business management of the firm and was active in the company until his sudden death in June 1920. In March 1900. A.P. Fenn purchased the interest of his partners and the next month formed a new partnership with his brother-in-law Jacob Zoercher. Mr. Fenn was President and General Manager, and Mr. Zoercher was Secretary and Superintendent. After this reorganization in 1900.
