Mary Gregory Style Hand Enameled Hand Blown Cranberry Glass Circa 1900
Up For Auction is this Mary Gregory Style Victorian. What I would call a juice glass. Cranberry Glass with Hand Painted White Enamel Scene The Scene: A little girl that has a Victorian dress with traditional collar and belted waist. She is holding a stalk of wheat or flower. The foliage is typical and very well pictured. My research indicates the age of this glass is approx circa. 1880-1900 The Glass is Approx 3.75” high& The Top is approx 2.25” wide& very lightweight. Enamel is in great condition it is very vibrant considering the age of the piece reflecting depth& layers. The glass is eight sided in the interior but smooth on the outside which is typical of early work. There are two small rim flakes or chips in the glass present. As shown in photos. The glass is hand blown and has a small imperfection located under one of the ... morerim flakes described above. These imperfections are usually associated with the hand blown process. The gold rim is worn away. The gilt is worn on the rim of the glass. This is a beautiful hand crafted antique that would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection. Antique Mary Gregory Enameled Clear Glass Pitcher Hand Blown
Hello. I have a beautiful Mary Gregory Hand Blown and Enameled Water Pitcher. It has beautiful painting and is wonderfully executed. It is very sweet. The pitcher has a glass fracture behind the handle. It may have been done in manufacturing when they cut the hot glass and it cooled to much.It does not affect its display.Or function. It appears to be well attached. I have owned it for years and have served water with ice in it several times. I purchased it this way. I have used this for tea luncheons.The glass dealer I bought it from gave me this possible explanation. Look at the pictures and decide for yourself. Antique Victorian Mary Gregory Cruet & Tumbler Set, Hand Painted Bohemian White
This listing is for an Antique. Victorian Mary Gregory Cruet and Tumbler Set. The pieces have a wonderful Mary Gregory hand painted portrait of a girl in white with flesh toned face and arms with white backgrounds. The painting is amazingly high quality with white on white which can be felt and seen. The glass is blown with a polished base on the tumbler and a pontil scar on the cruet. The cruet handle is applied. The stopper is original with the cruet neck and stopper bottom ground to fit each other. Both pieces have a paneled optic design which is almost exclusively pre-war. There are no maker or designer marks. Both pieces have a nice glow under UV light. They are likely Bohemian dating to the late 1800's or early 1900's and were original part of a set including a pitcher with a mother and another tumbler with a young boy. The ... morecruet measures 4 5/8" high without the stopper. 6 3/8" with the stopper and 3" in diameter at the center. The tumbler measures 3 3/4" high and 2 5/8" in diameter at the rim. Combined the set weighs 11.1 oz. The tumbler has two small chips on the rim. The cruet neck and stopper bottom have etching from forming and contact as would be expected. The cruet handle top has a small chip on the bottom right tab which applies it to the body. The side of the cruet has a small spider like crack on the side as seen in the photos. The balance of both pieces are free of chips. Cracks, fleabites and repairs. The artwork is in superb condition with no notable marks or nicks. The feet have light wear. The pontil scar on the cruet has some black markings. There are no signs of use on the interior or heavy mineral deposits. Despite the damage. They are beautiful original pieces and will make wonderful addition to a Victorian Enameled Glass or Mary Gregory collection. Shipping.
