Victorian amber hyacinth vase
This is what we believe to be a two part moulded. Late Victorian/Edwardian hyacinth vase, dating from approximately 1900. The vase is in good condition. This means. Of course, that it shows some wear and tear to the base and elsewhere commensurate with use. The vase is of baluster shape and is amber in colour. The vase rim has been sheared off asymmetrically at manufacture leaving it with a couple of bumps in the glass to give it character. The rim measures 6 cm(2.4 inches) in diameter. The bowl flares out into a baluster shape with a stepped base which measures 8.5 cm(3.4 inches) in diameter. The vase is 14.5 cm(5.8 inches) in height. There are a number of bubbles towards the foot of the vase. None of which appear to have burst. There is a single chip off the outside edge of the bowl rim. There are no other chips. The vase rim measures 6.7 cm(2.7 inches) in diameter. The bowl flares out into a baluster shape with a base which measures 8.8 cm(3.7 inches) in diameter. The vase is 13.5 cm(5.4 inches) in height. Few manufacture air bubbles: chip, crack and damage free. Height of the glass is 6.15 inches. Bowl diameter is at 4.5 inches, and rim diameter is at 2.5 inches! Owned from the late 1990's. When they were at their most popular. At this time, demand for Vaseline glass was at its highest. This one has all the attributes, and glows green under a UV(black) light, indicating the(harmless) presence of uranium salts in the glass mix. While a maker cannot be firmly attributed. It is quite probably English, from one of the top Stourbridge makers, possibly Stuart& Sons. Richardson or Thomas Webb when this style of vase was in vogue. This vase was hand-blown into a mould with optical ribs applied internally. DIMENSIONS: Approximately 20.5cm(8" tall, ITEM DETAILS: This vintage hyacinth vase probably dates from the late 19th century and is formed from white glass encased in blue with striking yet subtle enamel decoration. And whilst it does have a number of tiny nicks and fleabites around the top of the rim in line with age and use(see photo) it's otherwise excellent and as bright as a button with no other damage or unsightly wear and displays nicely. It is not marked and I have been unable to locate the manufacture. The only other one I located on the Internet in this shape was here on eBay and it was not identified as to maker. Regardless of who made this old bulb vase. It will be a fabulous addition to your bulb vase collection! The vase is a deep shade of ruby red and the glass is thick and sturdy. It is about 7 3/8" tall and 5" across at the widest point. There are normal usage marks but nothing that takes away from the integrity or loveliness of this wonderful and decorative vase. This is for a genuine 19th century Victorian Opaque glass hyacinth vase.It is in a very nice condition and is free of any cracks.Chips,damage,repair or restoration apart from a couple of minute nibbles on the top of the lip,hardly noticable.The vase has a hand painted floral design on an aqua blue background with the colours both clear and vivid with little or no wear or fading.It measures 5 3/4" in height,just under 4" in diameter at the base and 2 7/8" in diameter at the top lip.Good luck in your bidding.

But it's in good, bright condition with some normal age related shelf wear to its underside, some minor signs of age and use but no damage, clouding or unsightly wear. It has a rudimentary feel with some trapped air bubbles inside the glass(see photo) and its colour reminds me of'Bristol green' but as with most glass of this type it's unmarked so exact age, origin and maker are unknown. LOVELY Unusual 19thC ANTIQUE AMETHYST Mould Blown Glass HYACINTH Bulb VASE Unusual and attractive late 19th century mould-blown glass hyacinth bulb vase. Deep amethyst glass of bulbous shape with light spiralling rib-moulded effect and sand pontil. Item remains in very nice. Clean, original condition with no damage or notable wear. Exterior surface has a very fine pitted texture, most likely caused by the technique of manufacture, but this is quite discreet and acceptable in my opinion.
