Antique millstone or grindstone is great condition! The stone is 29" in diameter. The square hole in the center is 4.25"x4.25" wide, and the stone has a thickness of 6" The stone doesn't have any significant cracks, chips, etc. The stone has a couple slight surface chips/scratches which is to be expected for it's age. Manual Diamond Sliding Bar Grind Stone Sharpener Jig
You are bidding on a manual sliding bar grind stone sharpening Jig. The large outside square is 1 1/2" wide. 1 3/8" high, 4 1/2" long and comes apart with screws. It has a 1/2" square bar about 7" long that has a diamond dresser on one end and a round knurled nut on other end. The machinist or toolmaker puts this on magnetic table and manually works the 1/2" bar back and forth to sharpen grind stone. There is about 1 3/4" travel on it so as to be able to sharpen a grind stone that is at least 1 5/8" wide or less.There is no up and down slop or side to side slop when you move this back and forth. Made from various different types of stone and granite, one of them an interesting reddish purple color. As found condition. Shows signs wear from use and age, overall very good condition. One of them is broken in half. One granite piece has an interesting green band carved around it, and a small spot of red. The largest piece measures 10" in length. Tonight I am listing a collection of artifacts that came from one box found in the attic of an East Hanover. NJ estate. The collection spans the time frames from Early Archaic, the Transitional Period, and the Late Woodland period. The lady had many family antiques that had descended from her wealthy grandparents from Providence, RI. There ... morewere nothing else in the estate quite like this, so it's a bit of a mystery. The only information that was found with the items was a note on the box that read: Harry Pierce/ 1947" I tried to look up this name, but had no such luck. MAGIC MILL GRINDER Study the photos to see the condition of this grinder. Also for more specifications and what this machine can be used for. Look on the internet and the info is easy to find. I also see that the owners manuals for these are online for download(this one does not have the manual) Overall it is in excellent and used shape. I will point out a few of the following things: the exterior has a few dings and the varnish looks a little white in places(like on the end grain of the oak side panels) but overall very clean, the steel pan and lid with handle are very clean but the metal is different colors in places- it is 16-8 stainless steel original pan. There were originally little white rubber feet on the 4 corners of the base(that looked like the drawer rubber stop on the inside) but they are now missing(easy and cheap thing to remedy) ... moreThe stones look to be in fantastic shape all around and the lever in the back still moves the stones closer or further apart. The motor runs very smooth with no rattles or strange sounds/smells. When the motor is turned of. The coast time of the motor(time it takes to stop spinning) is 40 seconds so the bearing is still extremely good. Electrical cord is in excellent shape with no cracks, cuts or frays- still firmly attached to the motor! Bid with confidence.I will pack this item well as it is heavy and it will make it to you in good shape. I have set the shipping at $50 so the transaction will be easy. If it costs more for me then you got a good deal. If it costs less for me when I ship. I will refund the difference- I only charge for shipping, not for packing materials and handling. Rustic Primitive Old Vintage Stone or Concrete Pedestal Grind Stone? Garden Find So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! I was saying in one of my other listings that she had old stones piled up against the barn and on the ground- some large and clearly grist mill stones. And others- I don't know. This one actually was the smallest in a series of graduating stones piled together of the same shape and material- I had to take the smallest as it would have been cost prohibitive to ship any of the others- this ... moreone, at 13 lbs, fits inside of a flat rate box, whereas the others would not have. Now, I don't know if it's a stone, or if it's moded concrete- please supersize and see what you think. It's very pourous and rough on the outside, and has a patina that I think looks darker to my eye than it does with the light reflection on my screen. It has some darker, rusty colored spots on it to- that actually look like rust, maybe from something that was on it in the day? Did it have a utilitarian purpose? It doesn't have a hole in the center as you'd expect from a grinding stone, but I can't help but think that there was a purpose- especially since there were more of them and they all graduated in size- like big rock weights! I'm calling it older vintage, but I do think that it could be old enough to be antique. Enough of what I don't know- I KNOW that it is a really really cool primitive piece, and it would make a great piece for your own garden, or a perfect rustic pedestal for anywhere. For your consideration is this very clean electric flour or wheat mill/ grinder with stones that are in great shape also. Unit doesn't seem to have been used much. When I turn it on using the in line on/ off switch motor runs great with no undue noise or smells. 1/2 HP Wagner motor that should bring you years of use. 3450 RPM's. Adjustment knob on the front. Two condition issues to be aware of and unit is sold as is with no returns or refunds because of weight and cost of shipping. Issue 1. There is a Low and High selector on the switch. This is only a 1 speed motor though so the HIGH selection on the switch will not work! Not really an issue but mentioned so that you are aware of this! Next is the stone adjustment knob.
