I have for sale a Victorian pub Ale glass or Rummer dating to 19 th century. The glass stands 13.5 cm(5.25 inches) high. Has a rim diameter of 7.5 cm and a foot diameter of 7 cm. The glass has a bucket shaped bowl and a capstan stem. The foot is plain with visible gadget marks. It is made of heavy. Hand blown English lead glass of nice colour and dates to approx. 1880. The glass is in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or restoration, there is appropriate wear to the base. I accept payment by PayPal. Unusual Green Bubbly Stiegel Type Etched Sailing Ship Rummer Style Footed Glass DIMENSIONS: Approximately 11cm tall, ITEM DETAILS: This unusual hand-blown glass has a rudimentary etched sailing ship on one side and the inside of the glass is scattered with thousands of tiny bubbles. I'm told this type of glass is known as Stiegel type. And it's in excellent condition and as bright as a button with no damage, clouding or significant wear. I'm unsure of its exact age or maker, but it has a rough pontil and plenty of shelf wear around the underside of the foot(see photo) It would look great in any collection, and as always there's a low start and no reserve so happy bidding! Antique Pressed Glass Sherry Glass from the Rummer Hotel, King's Lynn - C. Wales
A genuine piece of King's Lynn history. This sherry glass was press moulded in a three piece mould somewhere around the last decade of the 19th century. It was then transfer printed with the logo of the Rummer Hotel Kings Lynn and the licensee name C. Wales. Richard Charles Wales was the licensee of the Rummer Hotel from 14/04/1890 until 04/02/1906. The Rummer Hotel stood at 1 Tower Street. The glass is in very good condition. Unfortunately the years of use has effected the transfer printing. The glass weighs about 203 grams. And is approximately 13 cm in height. Because of the large weight of this item; If somebody outside of mainland UK wishes to bid. It will have to shipped abroad using international couriers. 8437 Victorian Tavern Rummer Description A mid 19th century Victorian tavern rummer dating around 1860. It is of tough soda glass. Usual for this type of ware which needed to be hard wearing. It is of typical form with a U shaped bowl and slightly tapering thick stem. The foot is conical and the pontil is rough snapped. This type of glass was commonly in use in pubs and taverns throughout the 19th century. Some were also used domestically as general purpose glasses. As they are generally quite tough. They are good to use today and reasonably inexpensive for an antique glass. Condition Good order with just some minor wear. Small captured air bubble to the foot and some minor mineral inclusions. Including trailing to the foot, and four applied prunts. This example has a clearly snapped pontil. And is lead glass. This leads me to believe it is English. C19th Cut Glass Large Goblet/ Rummer with faceted stem This is an unusually large wine glass or rummer. It is hand blown and hand cut glass. The foot has a central polished pontil mark. The stem is a thin baluster shape with hexagonal facets. I'd date this to the second half of the nineteenth century. Size: about 6 3/4 inches high( 17.3 cm) Weight: 391 grammes Condition: good- light wear: one tiny bruise to the edge of the foot that shows as a reflective dot in the glass: see the photos. Antique 19th c.small rummer wine glass or goblet with square foot
I have for sale a small glass Rummer or goblet dating to mid 19 th century. The glass stands 12.5 cm(5 inches) high. Has a rim diameter of 7 cm and sits on a square foot 6.5 cm by 6.5 cm. The glass has a funnel shaped bowl on a short stem with a blade knop at the top finishing in a domed base which sits on the foot. The foot is square of the“lemon squeezer” form. The thickness of the glass foot is 0.8 cm. It is made of hand blown English lead glass of good weight and has an excellent ring when“pinged” The rummer is in very good condition with no chips cracks or restoration. I accept payment by PayPal. Exceedingly rare. Original, circa 1850s mercury glass goblet or rummer most likely crafted by the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company of Sandwich, Massachusetts(possible, the New England Glass Company or Cambridge, Massachusetts) Has a height of 6 9/16" The outer rim has a diameter of 4 3/8" The base has a diameter of 3 6/8" The hand blown flint glass is free of any chips or cracks. The sharp pontil retains not only the cork that was used to seal the piece after the silvering process. But the paper label as well, something I've never seen. The label may have once had printed or written text but is now no longer legible. Fantastic copper wheel engraved grape vine pattern. There is no loss of silvering. Including the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, New England Glass Company, made silvered glass from about 1852-80. Antique 19th c Bohemian cut and engraved glass rummer or wine goblet
I have for sale an excellent Bohemian cut glass Rummer or wine goblet dating to the 19 th century. The glass stands 13.3 cm(5.25 inches) high. Has a rim diameter of 7 cm and sits on a thick foot with a diameter of 6.2cms. The glass is made of thick and heavy Ruby and clear glass and has a bucket shaped bowl cut into 10 panels. It is made of hand blown lead glass and has a good ring when“pinged” The glass has engraved patterns of clear glass showing floral. Mythical and musical details. There are also engraved words in German Gothic script which I think say Gluck, Freude, Geshundheit(Hapiness Health Joy) The glass is in very good condition there is a very minor flea bite to the top rim which is difficult to spot. 19th C VICTORIAN HEAVY PRESSED RUMMER GLASS This is a heavy 5.8" high rummer which dates from the Victorian times. The top diameter is 3.25" and the base the same. I t was press moulded in 4 sections.The moulded decoration are printies(thumb print shapes) and a beaded section underneath. It is in very good condition. Complete with imperfections, air bubbles and striations all characteristic of glass manufactured at the time. 9005 Early Press Moulded Rummer Description An early press moulded glass rummer dating around 1845. A nice example of a glass very early in the history of machine press moulding. It was made in a 3 part mould and the mould lines are partly visible. These early moulded examples are heavier than had made equivalents and tend to copy similar designs of the period. They were also often hand finished to remove some of the flaws associated with press moulding. A number of designs from this early period exist. But they are fairly limited, probably as the number of factories producing by this method was relatively small at the time. They are also much scarcer than free blown period examples!
