HOUSTON REDS Houston Brick and Tile Company is an abandoned mine located in Houston. Texas. This mine was operated by Houston Brick& Tile Company and primarily produced fire clay. 3. WHITESELLE CHERRY REDS CORSICANA Corsicana Brick yard and pit was located across Farm-to-Market Road 709 to the south of the Magnolia Refinery. The Magnolia Company bought out the Corsicana Brick company. The Magnolia Company built its new headquarters in downtown Dallas using bricks from the Corsicana location. This is the building still standing today with the flying red horse on top. Completed in 1926. This building and others prove just how durable bricks manufactured by Corsicana Brick and Whiteselle Brick could withstand the test of time. James Emerson Whiteselle- Born in Tennessee on Dec. 31. 1851- moved to Texas in 1870 to work in the lumber company of his uncle P. W. Ezell.
