U.S. Tubular Bell Company Bronze Church Tower Chime - 15 Chime - Extremely Rare
This may be the earliest known bronze tubular tower chime produced by U.S. Tubular Bell Company to still be in existence in the United States. There are fifteen bells total weighing up to several hundred pounds each. In excellent and original condition and is sound. The United States Tubular Bell Company was started by Edward Searles in the late 1800s. Walter Durfee was the president of U.S. Tubular Bell Company. The U.S. Tubular Bell Company sold tubular tower chimes to churches and universities. Only a few of such chimes are known to bear a U.S. Tubular nameplate. 2 Nice Antique Metal & Wood Hand School Bell Church Calling Bell
Up for auction. I have these 2 great antique metal hand bells. I purchased this item at a local estate auction. The larger bell measures 6 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" across the bottom of the bell. The smaller bell measures 3 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" across the bottom of the bell. Both bells are a white metal with a painted wooden handle. The smaller bell's handle is loose. The bells are in very good condition with a nice patina and most of the original paint on the handle. I did not clean it. I will leave that decision to the new owner. Complete Antique #2 Cast Iron Metal Farm Church/School Bell - Nice Tone!
Thanks for looking! Up for sale is a Original Antique#2 Cast Iron Metal Bell with the original Yoke. Upright Cradle and Ring ing Arm Crank. Bells like these w ere used since the 1800's on Rural Farms and small Country Churches. Old Farm Bells in this condition are getting very rare and do not come up for sale very often! The bell measures 14.5" in Diameter measured at the opening of the bowl and is 8" Tall. The Upright measures 19.5" wide x 18.5" tall. The bell and yoke weighs in right at 33 lbs. and the upright weighs right at 11 lbs. The bell. Upright, yoke and crank does not have any cracks in the castings and the bell still has a beautiful and loud tone despite its age and weathering. The only markings on the bell is the number"2" on one side of the Yoke. There is a few places where the casting was not ... moreperfect. And where the yoke is attached to the top of the bell you can see where the bolt was drilled a little off center, both of which is characteristic of many early cast iron bells. We decided not to remove the old paint and leave it like we found it. It has what looks like 3-4 coats of paint and is in really nice condition due to the protection of the paint. If you need advice on how to properly restore the finish on the bell we will be glad to furnish that information with the buyer. We are not 100% sure of the age but is probably circa 1900's. There are no cracks or heavy rust showing on the bell that we can see. We have tried to show as much details of the bells condition as shown in the pictures so you can determine for yourself the items condition. It is from their annual church bell series and is the 1979 bell. B&G style# 9679. The bell is Copenhagen porcelain and is made in Denmark. The subject of the 1979 annual ... morechurch bell is the Borgund Stavkirke Church in Laerdal. Sogn. Norway. The porcelain bell is white on the inside and variegated blue on the outside with trim. Writing and images in metallic gold. It has a wooden ball clapper that hangs on a brass rod attached through a hole at the top of the bell in an opening under the handle. The bell has a rich tone when rung. The bell’s handle has a design on both sides(see photo) Below the handle is printed around the bell: Borgund Satavkirke Laerdal Sogn Norge. With a line above and below the lettering all in gold. Around the bell are four images: there is a door knocker in gold with the year 1979 as part of the design; on the opposite side is an image of the church also in gold; and on the two sides between these two are images in blue(see close-up photos) Below these images are the words: Ring out the Old. 1962 Sesquicentennial Bingham, Maine "The Old Church" w Revere Bell Photo Plate
A total of 398 Revere bells were cast and adorned church steeples all over New England. Dedicated on October 20. 1836, the Old Church was a Union Meeting House where all might worship. The plate is 10" in diameter and other than very minimal gold paint wear along the edge, condition is excellent. This is a nice piece of Maine history. Thanks for looking.

The Torre dos Clérigos, can be seen from various points of the city and is one of its most characteristic symbols. The church was built for the Brotherhood of the Clérigos(Clergy) by Nicolau Nasoni. A terra cotta handmade church. Stamped on the bottom with the maker's mark and Mexico. There is no paint or sealer on it. It is decorated with cut outs and bell shapes and 2 crosses at top. This bell has a mount bracket that would mount to a mast or bulkhead(or your kitchen wall! The bronze surface has a attractive patina and the sound is loud and clear, with a nice long fade. Measurements at 8" Tall from rim to top of bell, 7-5/8" Diameter at rim, mount screw-plate is 4-1/2" Long. The bell weight is 8-1/2 pounds. The blue and red cords were on the bell when I found it. The bracket is marked 1886. This bell had a crack in it that has been welded. But the ring is just fine. It will be shipped in 2 packages. Time to own a bit of history. It is in good condition. This is a vintage Catholic monastery brass door bell with the hanger that are still in the plastic! It also has the original box. It is in very good condition. It does have very little oxidation(plastic does have a couple of holes in it) On the back of the hanger it has a sticker that reads. A Price Import Tiawan Republic of China" All together(box, hanger and bell) weigh 5lbs and 4.7oz. The bell is approximately 7" tall and the base of the bell is approximately 4 1/4" wide. The hanger is approximately 10 and 7/8" tall and measures from front to back approximately 6 1/4" The Latin phrase. QUI ME TANGIT: VOCEM MEAM AUDIT, Whoever Touches Me Hears My Voice. This particular bell has a deep resinating sound that can be heard at a distance. S uch bells may have been used in hallways perhaps as a wakeup call for the monks ... moreor nuns; or as the final bell announcing the Grand Silence.
