Offered is a pair of Hand Painted Porcelain portraits of early 19th c. ladies in matching. Exquisite, gesso, hand carved Rococo, frames. Both the portraits and the frames are in very fine condition with no breaks, repairs, mars, etc. Each measures 12 x 9 x 3 inches and are signed Wagner in the lower right hand side. The frames are hand carved with applied gesso, gold paint, and highlighted with gold leaf. I'd venture to say they date from around 1900. Pair Antique Miniature European Oil Landscape/ Floral Paintings - Ornate Frames
Pair of charming antique oil paintings of landscapes. Probably European in origin. Ornately framed with brass decorated with filigree and paste? gems. One is signed"Fanny" last name hard to make out) and the other does not appear to be signed. Mats are velvet and glass ovals are convex. Each has a small loop at the top for hanging. These loops were originally brass but one has been rather clumsily replaced. See pix. These oils are out of the estate of a woman who died at 102 and had previously owned an antique shop on Cape Cod. Frames are 6.5 x 7.5 inches and oval painted area is 3.5 x 4.5. Good quality antique oils. Wish I knew more about them.

Each piece has a woman portrait painting on 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" porcelain dish mounted on high quality gold gilded and velvet wooden shadow box frame. The frame is 7" x 7" x 2"Thickness. The paintings are unsigned on front. I am not sure whether they have signatures on the back. I can't take them down. From the paintings I believe they were painted by a master painter. Age and origin unknown. I would guess they are either from Germany or France. The porcelain dishes have minor chips or scuffing on the edges showing the age of these pieces. These minor flaws do not detract the beauty of these piece. Both paintings are in great shapes. overall the pair is in very good to excellent condition. The frames preserve so well. These paintings were purchased from an estate sale in Little Compton RI and the home is portrayed from the front and the back. Both of these paintings come framed in 10 ½” by 12 ½” dark wood frames, however the paintings measure slightly different. The one with the chickens in the front yard measures 5” by 7” and the second one is slightly larger at 7 7/8” by 5 ¼” In our close up photographs you can see that there is a fine craquelar to a couple areas of the thick gouache paint, but there are no other problems or restorations to the paintings. There is some spotting to the matts, and a water-stain along the left hand side of one mat. This same painting also has some spots on the backside of the glass. Antique Spanish Hand Fan, 2-Sided Paintings, Litho & Painted, Circa 1860
This is a really lovely Spanish hand fan. Wonderfully carved and pierced wooden sticks and guards. The right guard has a oval mirror in a gold-tone metal frame. At the bottom of the sticks is a MOP guard front and back with a MOP washer. The loop is brass. This is a 2-sided fan with different scenes on both sides. They were lithographed and painted. I think. The fan measures 10-1/2"long by 20" wide. The box it came in leaves much to be desired but it protects the fan, which is most important. I showed the label, which is very colorful.
