There is a lot of info on google about McCrory's Five& Dime History! Just think how many little kids had their candy weighted on this scale. Just think of their excitement as they watched and waited for the clerk to weigh the candy and give it back to them! Unfortunately the scale has seen better days! It appears to be in fine working order but it really could use a good cleaning. We are not going to attempt to do anything to this scale, we'll leave that all up to the buyer. We do not want to take a chance on damaging any part of this lovely antique! The scale is so old that the labels are all worn or have rubbed off, over time. There is one large label that was on the main arm of the scale and the only text we can make out is"York County, PA" There is no info on the manufacturer of the scale. The only thing we can see is where you read the weight, EXACT WEIGHT printed across the top. We did some research on the Exact Weight company and seen other scales that are almost identical. We are 99% certain this scale was made by Exact Weight but please realize that there is a chance we could be incorrect. We are not scale collector's or experts. Everything is present and of course worn from use. Some drawers stick a little. I am selling with a conditional"As Is" This is a primitive, hand made artifact from roughly eighty years ago. Expect minor issues. I found two drawers that the front had split and they had been repaired with glue. That is an example. Examine pictures closely for condition, which I think is extremely good for what we have. Forth and Fifth picture. Big surprise. This hardware cabinet was made from at least two Sunkist produce crates! The name"California Fruit Growers Exchange which appears on the crate. As well as"Sunkist" are consistent with my build estimate of early 1930's. The stand has machine turned legs, and towel bars at the sides that attach to a custom shaped trim work that runs across the back. This trim work is at most 5" above the top of the stand. The top of the stand is 28.5" tall, 33" tall at the top of the raised towel bars, is 28.5" long across the back from bar to bar, and 18.75" wide front to back, including the trim. The bottom shelf has a small area at the far right front where it looks like the wood may have been broken and repaired, or at least cracked. I am unsure of the type of wood that the stand is made from, but it looks like Cherry to me.

Please be patient there are 18 photos to be loaded in this auction. This auction is for a 19th century night stand. With two beautifully dovetailed constructed ... moredrawers. This is in excellent condition, looking much newer than it is. This is constructed of a medium color wood, not veneered. We are not experts in identifying wood, but think this might be pecan for the show side, and a different wood, oak or pine for the back construction. This is done with a sort of Country French look with slightly curved legs and the attractive curve detail on the skirt below the drawers. The stand is approx. 27.5" tall, 17.5" wide, and nearly 10" deep. The drawer fronts have lock mechanisms, though there is no key with this table, and brass ring pulls. You can see a couple of little dings on the top, and one of them looks like it might have disrupted the varnish.
