Constructed from a pale orange clay, typical of the Early- Middle Bronze Age. The heavy pot stands on a flattened, circular base, the bowl itself with steep walls and large, ridged mouth. Two flat handles positioned bilaterally on the shoulders of the piece with impressed crimped decorations. Similar examples have been excavated from Bronze Age sites across Israel. Ancient Persian Bronze Age Pottery Jug - 1200 BC
A well provenanced. Ancient Persian pottery vessel, dating to approximately the Late 2nd millennium B.C. With bulbous. Ribbed body, wide neck, everted mouth and flattened circular base. Two small, pierced lug handles sit on either side of the pot's shoulder. Long curving ridges have been carefully modeled into the body of the pot to create a ribbed design. Diameter: 4 3/4 inches.
