She was very particular about it's history and claims it came up the Ohio River from New Orleans in the late 1850's. Glass is excellent. Original, and has old wood board backing. Old wire and hardware are intact and corners are tight. The cabinet has great patina and wear is consistent with age and use. The color is a cherry stain with some scalloping on the top. The base is also wood and is oblong with simple trim work. The mirror is pretty clear, with minimal scratching and appears to be solid. The mirror is slightly uncentered and it also appears to be beveled(showing on one side. CONDITION: Antique. The date is unknown. But guessing Ca early 1900's to 1920s. I am not an expert and the date could be all wrong. The wood is in good condition, solid with no apparent breaks. There are some scratches. The mirror will NOT stand up on its own, very rarely it will, meaning the swivel mechanism keeps swinging the mirror backwards. I'm sure this can be repaired somehow. Rare Antique Early 19th Century Mahogany Wall Mirror Carve Wood Brass Hardware. We are listing a very special early 19th century wall mirror in excellent condition. This mirror represents the best of the early craftsmanship of cabinetmakers long gone. This was from our personal collection the we have enjoyed for the last 50 years. We are downsizing and this is one of the pieces that has to go. It was refinished when we first acquired it and has been hanging with pride in our home all these years. The top crown of the mirror is decorated with tiny acorns all across the front. There are 21 of the tiny acorns, two are missing. Most of the framework on the mirror is made of mahogany and decorated with some cherrywood. The bottom mirror is original and has some tiny black wear spots. The top mirror has been replaced a long time ago, the five brass ... moremedallions are located on the edges and center top of the mirror. The top board of the crown was cracked and reglued when we got it, we have never done anything else with the crack and is still exposed, you can see it from the top only. There are a couple square handmade nails original, holding the crown to the frame. The patina on the back of the mirror is original and the color is to die for! The original hand chafed wood boards covering the mirrors are still on the frame. The size of the mirror frame is 39 inches tall, by 23 inches wide at the top, by 19 1/2 inches wide at the bottom. The top mirror is 8 1/2 X11!2" The bottom mirror is 11 1/2 X 17 1/2" If you have been looking for a quality antique wall mirror to decorate your home, you may want to give this one some thought. Beautiful set of Shadow Box shelves. Good quality. Heavy, and very old with original green paint. You can see the mirrors in the background have some peeling but it adds character to them and their age. They each have a sticker on the back of them and each stamped 814 shown in last two photos. Not sure if the hanging hooks are original or not as a couple hooks look to have been reattached on the back, please refer to photos. They hang perfectly fine with the hangers on them as photos show. I see one tiny knick on the inner left edge, near the mirror at about 10 o'clock. Great old dark patina on this wood. I'm guessing it has the sunlight hitting it on the right side for a hundred hears. This is made from one block of wood. No glue. The frame measures 11 1/2 inches diameter The mirror area is 6 inches diameter. The frame is 1 1/2 inches thick. The mirror is a replacement. The thumb tack was holding a string for hanging. Offered is an absolutely stunning antique mahogany wall mirror in the Chippendale style. Thomas Chippendale was a major contributor to furniture design in the 18th century and was celebrated for his book The Gentleman and Cabinet Maker's Director. Published in 1754. After publication of Chippendale's book, furniture makers across the globe used his designs in their work, often combining his trademark elements with others. This piece is Federal Chippendale and dates to the 1880s. This is an old mirror and it has held up very nicely over the years. The design is actually quite interesting with its roundel tipped whorls facing outward and over the acanthus finials. The acanthus flourish in the top center is unique as well. The border is all reeded with block corners. The mirror has some small spots. As is expected in an old mirror, but it has very minor spotting compared to what you normally see. There is also a scratch on the lower right side, and some wear/ scratching to the wood frame, as should be expected in an older piece. The back has a strong wire support. Estate find! Fabulous wood(appears to be mahogany) dresser top shaving/ vanity mirror with three drawers. It is beautifully constructed. I do not know how old it is. It appears to be handcrafted and could be quite old but does have some newer hardware so I will do my best to show everything in photos so you can make your own determination of age. I find it particularly interesting how well it is finished on all sides. Back, bottom, inside the drawers.etc. Great care seems to have been taken to create this stunning piece. There is no damage anywhere that I could find. The mirror is beveled and in very good condition with no speckles. Lovely vintage Chippendale wall mirror made out of mahogany. This style is a true classic. Design is an arched top that surrounds an urn finial. It is a classic beauty. This piece is in good vintage shape and is very heavy. There are a few"dings" in the frame, but nothing that detracts from it's formal grace. The mirror is in good condition as well. Up for bid is the vintage/antique OVAL WALL-HUNG MIRROR. As seen in the pictures/ as described in the title. Features a beveled edge mirror and a mahogany wood frame(I think.could be another heavy/high density wood variety) Backing is very old, patinaed plywood, nailed. 2) steel hanging brackets are installed at rear and show very thick/rich patina. Edge molding(decorative plaster? has some damage. About 50% of it has chipped off, at multiple areas around the circumference. In my opinion, it only adds to the character of the piece and enhances its antique look. Aside from the damaged edge, this piece is in excellent, like-new condition. NO cracks, chips or scratches to the mirror. Frame is solid& sturdy with minimal, small/minor blemishes. Wood backing is a bit warped but not an issue whatsoever. Brackets are secure and strong. This is sooooo beautiful! Huge mirror in fantastic condition. Really would make a statement in any room. It is 51 1/2 inches tall and 48 inches wide because the bottom shelves bow out a bit.The ornate cornice at the top and the shelves come off for easier transporting.
