Description of item for sale: This classic gilt framed mirror is from France and it dates to the Second French Empire(Napoleon III) period of 1850-1870. The frame is a wood base with the fine decorations added in gesso and all finished in its original gilding. The frame is in good original antique condition. We can see minor repairs to the gesso. Especially a repair to the top of the crest and there are also small bits of gesso missing here and there and chips in the gilding. All of this is very typical in these old gilt frames. The glass is also hand cut and original but the mirror was re-silvered in 1974(dated on rear) The glass is undamaged and the silvering very good with very light spotting. Excellent Antique Art Deco Gold Gilt Wood & Floral Gesso Framed Wall Mirror
This is an excellent antique wall mirror in a wooden gold gilt frame with floral gesso accents and border all the way around. It looks like the gold was re-painted and there is only one tiny chip missing from the frame and one spot that was touched up. Otherwise, it is near-perfect. The mirror is also excellent, thick and heavy, crystal clear throughout, with only a few small black spots from age. The paper is intact on the back and there is a wire attached for wall hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 14 1/4" x 29 1/2" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Two wooden antique mirrors. They have the old boards on the back. One needs the little spikes that hold the mirror and backing on. These are a dark gold gilt color. There is chipping of the gilt in several places that reveals a shiny surface like brass. A magnet does not stick to it. So I know it is not metal. See picture 4 for details. Excellent Antique Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Framed Rectangular Beveled Wall Mirror
This is an excellent antique rectangular wall mirror with an elegant gold gilt wooden frame with floral gesso accents. Both frame and mirror are in very good condition. There is no missing gesso on the frame. But it does look like it was re-painted a few times. The paint is a nice, rich, metallic gold that is smooth and even, and a good color for the age of the mirror. The glass is beveled and seems heavy and thick, images are clear throughout, but it has a faint streakiness to it with a few tiny specks of missing silver. The back has been re-covered with paper and there is a wire for wall hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 17 3/4" L x 31 3/4" H, and the mirror measures 14" x 26" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Antique Victorian Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Framed 3 Section Etched Wall Mirror
This is a stunning Victorian wall mirror with an elegant gold gilt wooden frame with gesso accents that is separates the mirror into three sections. There is a beautiful floral and stripe border etched into the back of the glass on each end. The mirror is in good condition overall with a few small spots of missing silver and faint cloudiness in a few areas. But mages look crystal clear throughout. There are some shallow scratches and scuffs on the far right mirror section that is slightly visible in the photo of that section. The frame is excellent with no missing gesso. The gold finish looks very good with only a few touch ups that were done in matching paint and are not obvious. There are a few tiny chips of paint missing, but they are not noticeable unless closely inspected. This is a long mirror, measuring 54" L x 18" H. There ... moreis a wire on the back for hanging, but it is a little bit long and is visible when the mirror is hung. The paper backing is no longer intact, but the cardboard panel is there and there are small square nails all the way around holding the cardboard and glass in place. I have wedged some extra cardboard pieces behind some of the nails that were touching the glass, and I will make sure to fill in any loose spots or exposed glass on the back with extra cardboard before shipping. I will place pillows over the top, wrap it well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

This gorgeous antique Italian mirror was made in Parma. Italy. It has a unique upside down tear drop shape with rich carvings and great gilt. The patina is so great it looks like it is made of gold(sorry, it is not) It dates to the early 1900's, but has a mirror of a later date. Gold framed mirror. I believe it is wood. I am not sure of the age. Features an urn in the center. Leaves and flower design. It measures appx. 52" high by 35" wide including the frame. This is a very large mirror. Hard to find this size. Very nice. Not extremely ornate. Would go well with many decors. Has gold leaf. But not overt. Some may have worn off over the years. Antique Vintage Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Framed Floral Etched Wall Mirror
This is a charming antique wall mirror with elegant floral gesso accents on the top and bottom of the frame. A beaded scroll and leaf pattern etched into the back of the glass at the top of the mirror, and three flower screws holding the mirror snugly in place on the frame. Overall condition is very good with no missing silver on the mirror or gesso on the frame, and only very light, almost completely unnoticeable cloudiness and a couple tiny black spots on the glass. There are a few scuff marks on the outside edge of the frame where the pink primer is showing through. It still looks fantastic as-is but could be easily touched up. The cardboard backing is intact with a tear along one side. There is a wire attached for wall hanging. The outer measurements including the frame are 12" W x 28" H. Antique Victorian Convex Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Federal Eagle Framed Wall Mirror
This is a fantastic antique Federal Eagle crested convex wall mirror with 13 balls around the frame signifying the 13 colonies. It is an original antique piece from around the turn of the century. The frame and glass are in excellent condition. Nothing is missing, or broken, the gesso is 100% complete, the crest and decorative piece on the bottom are tightly intact and not loose or cracked, and the mirror doesn't have any missing silver or age spots. The frame might have been re-painted at one time, but if it was, it was long ago and not obvious. Some of the 13 balls have recently been touched up where the paint was chipped(shown in the close-up of the ball) but the touchup paint matches nicely. The gesso has some shallow hairline cracks typical for its age, but nothing is loose. One of the eagle's wingtips has a small area of paint ... morechipped off. There is a new piece of cardboard and new nails on the back along with new eye hooks and a new hanging wire(in my opinion though, the hooks are too small and the wire is too thin so replacements might be necessary. The outer dimensions of the frame are 31" H x 21" W. It will be packed very well. Double boxed, and insured during shipping. It is guaranteed to arrive safely.

Antique Victorian Gold Gilt Wood & Floral Gesso Ocatgonal Framed Wall Mirror
This is a nice original Victorian wall mirror in octagon shaped wooden frame with floral gesso accents covered with metallic gold paint. The frame looks re-painted. But looks very good with very little to no paint loss and no gesso loss. There is a crack along the gesso where the crest is attached to the frame, but it is not loose. The glass is in very good condition but has some typical discoloration on the silver finish from age. There is some light spottiness and light streakiness along with a few small dark spots, but images still look clear throughout. The outer dimensions of the frame are 20 1/4" W x 18 1/4" H. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

XLNT Vintage Antique Gold Gilt Wood & Floral Gesso Framed Wall Dressing Mirror
This is an excellent vintage wall mirror with nice floral gesso wreath crest and ribbon pattern all the way around the outer edge of the frame. The gold finish is excellent and original with mild darkening from age. There are a few minor scuffs and scratches on the finish and one tiny chip on the floral decoration at the bottom of the mirror. But otherwise it looks fantastic. The glass looks very good with some tiny, very light cloudy spots in a few areas, and images are crystal clear throughout. The paper backing is torn but still mostly intact, and there is a hanging wire attached to the back. The crest is firmly attached to the top with no looseness, and all joints are tight. The outer dimensions of the frame are 19 3/4" W x 32 1/2" H. It will be packed securely, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Vtg Antique Gold Gilt Arts & Crafts Floral Wood Gesso Framed Etched Wall Mirror
This is a charming antique etched wall mirror with wooden frame and crest with ornate floral leaf and scroll gesso accents around the top and at each corner. There are a few scuffs and scratches on the frame. Some repairs to the gesso and touched up areas that conceal chips(shown in the photos) but it looks good overall. The glass looks excellent with crystal clear reflections throughout and no cloudiness, but there are a couple tiny spots of silver loss on the top edge and on one side edge. Antique Victorian Rocco Style Gold Gilt Gesso Framed Mirror Floral Round
Here for your consideration is a lovely old framed mirror. The frame is wood with a gold gesso layer. This is a very large frame. It measures 29" The gesso molding at the top is 16" wide and 6" tall. At the bottom it is 16" wide and 3" tall. It has a partial label saying Western Frame Co. It is in overall very good condition. It has minor cracking of the gesso due to the age of the minor.
