For Auction is a very nice set of candlesticks made by Tiffany Studios. New York. These are known as Bronze Poppy Stem candlesticks. The Candlesticks are a nice size as each stands approximately 9 7/8" tall and the round foot has a diameter of 4 7/8" This is an elegant pair of Tiffany Studios bronze candlesticks. They are in the form of poppy stems. Descending into a fluted circular widespread foot. The stem terminates with six foliate branches holding a poppy flower pod. The bronze metal is Acid Etched with very large flakes. They have nice light brown naturally aged patina that is pretty uniform throughout both candlesticks. They both have removable bobeches. These are original bobeches and not reproductions as is evident with the Acid Etched metal flakes and the style of the flanges on the bottom of them. The Candlesticks are ... moreconsidered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no dents. Or dings to the metal. They both show minor wear consistent with age and handling. The Candlesticks are both signed with the impressed"Tiffany Stvdios New York" mark along with the pattern number"1210" which is impressed just underneath this. The use of the letter"v" in Studios denotes this pair as an early pair of candlesticks by LCT Tiffany Favrile. There is also the numbers 1136 lightly scratched below the pattern number on one of the candlesticks. I believe this was more than likely a special order number and Tiffany's way of tracking them. This is a quality set of Tiffany Bronze Candlesticks. These are an excellent example in both Patina and Acid Etching. This is one of the harder to find of the bronze Candlesticks Styles. I'm quite sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. Since these have the letter"v" in Studio I would say these candlesticks were early made circa 1902-1905. The four large side panels are each decorated with a central medallion of eight abalone discs set within a leaf and vine design which is surrounded by a framed border. The lid is decorated with a matching design. The narrow sides have a coordinating design of a scrolling tendril decoration within a framed border. A very beautiful cat's paw candlestick has a desirable dark patina finish in brown. Green and red. The hinges are straight and the lid closes tight and level. The cedar insert has some minor calcification on it and the cedar top insulator has a portion of wood missing. This one of well documented form with pineapple/ artichoke/ florifom(depending on which reference you consult) decoration. Whatever that case, the I believe 1910-1920 or so upper tier necessity was originally available in two finishes- patinated and bronze dore; the offered holder is of the patinated type, so perhaps somewhat more compatible with an American Arts and Crafts decorative scheme. In fact, this one saw service as a candlestick in an old Tucson bungalow for many years. There is"TIFFANY STUDIOS/ NEW YORK" and"1043" to the bottom exactly ... moreas proper. There are no monograms or any other issues of that sort. if you have a Tiffany glass vase in need of a base, or a spot for a surprisingly efficient candlestick of highly charismatic configuration, this should lo the trick in high style. For those who know, no more need be said. Condition is quite fine with a wonderful aura of time to the patinated surfaces. Those surfaces were apparently lightly cleaned at some point in the distant past, though have now toned nice mellow coloration(see pics) No damage or any hidden restorations to dampen your day. A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Size is about 5 1/4 in. high; about 5 in. across the circular base. Tiffany Studios bronze and glass box - organic motif---14640
A very fine Tiffany Studios handkerchief box(or desk box) with hinged lid. Signed on base Tiffany Studios. New York. All original green slag glass in excellent condition. Trellis metalwork design with vines and flowers that Tiffany referred to as Etched Metal and Glass(E.M.G. with a verdigris finish. This is of the same genre as the Pine Needle pattern and the Grapevine pattern. This overall organic pattern is much less common however. Overall size is 8" x 8" x 2 3/4" high. This listing is for a fabulous original Tiffany Studios gilt bronze"Pine Needle" pen tray. Tiffany's"Pine Needle" desk set was introduced in 1899 and remained in production for approximately 20 years. Decorated with amber and cream colored slag glass housed in a reticulated gilt bronze metal frame. The tray has its original naturally aged patina and there is wear to the gold with no damage. The base is stamped"Tiffany Studios. New York, 1004" Measures 9 5/8" long and 2 3/4" wide. I do not bother to clean these up. RARE TIFFANY STUDIOS BRONZE NINTH CENTURY CRIBBAGE BOARD
Offered for you consideration is a Rare Tiffany Studios Bronze Ninth Century Cribbage Board. This lovely antique measures approximately 2 7/8" wide x 10 1/16" long x 11/16" tall and is in as found condition. The finish is dull and grungy. The peg holes have inlaid silver metal around them. It appears that the glass buttons are missing on the corners. We have not and will not clean. The new owner can make that choice. Shipping is via Insured Priority Mail. This is a rare piece of Tiffany bronze that would make a great addition to your collection. Do not let this beauty get away!
