Fabulous 1920s Large 12 3/8" OSCAR BACH Claw Footed Bronze Box Humidor
Here's a fabulous c. 1923 Oscar Bach humidor box. I found one very similar on the Oscar Bach website but that one was smaller. Has button feet instead of these claw feet, and has some enamel. This one doesn't. I believe this is bronze but that website mentions it is a copper alloy. Anyway, it certainly is heavy(weighs 6 lbs. 7 oz. The center has two nude females walking with flowing hair. On either side is a section with a classical Putti figure. Impressed signature on the bottom"Oscar B. Bach" Excellent condition except for some green verdigris here and there. Put on that old record and have a cigar. Maybe a good idea when that cigar comes out of this beautifull box! Made by Georg Jensen and disigned by Johan Rohde in 1916 to comemorate the 50th anniversary of the Danish Shipping Company as can been seen on a plaque on the inside of the lid. As the story goes Jensen made 1051 of these boxes. One for the King. Fifty for the higher staff and one thousend for the workers. The one for the king was naturally made out of gold, the higher staff were given a silver one and the workers could enjoy a copper/bronze one. Because of the history behind the item it is rare that family would let go of such an inheritance but this one is now here and you could be the next owner to keep his/her pecious cigars in this magnificant box. Large antique cold painted Austrian Vienna bronze devil cigar box humidor teufel
Fine novelty bronze depicting Satan carrying a large trunk on his back the trunk is cold painted to show a dark brown wood effect which I have tried to show in the photos. The gold coloured match container door swings open and the recess to hold the matches is actually set deep into the marble base. I can find no makers mark though the inside of the trunk has a old green baize lining to it so it's possible the makers mark could be under the green baize. The quality and quirkiness and size lead me to belive it is most likely by franz bergman. Incredible fine detail and wonderful patina to the whole piece as can be seen in the photos. Undoubtably Austrian with his finely detailed lederhosen and dating circa 1880-1920s in age. Size, total height is 230 mm And marble base is 90 mm by 150 mm showing minor chips see photos. The hinged trunk ... morewill hold around 6- 8 thick cigars or many more cigarettes The trunk measures 120mm tall by 85mm wide by 60mm deep. As you can see the detail and craftsmanship that went into the design of the trunk such as the false lock and the hinged handle as well as the devils detail is outstanding. Devil seems to have some form of club or stick wrapped in his tail see photos. A very fine and rare collectors piece of which in 20 plus years of collecting antique devils I have never seen another similar.

SILVERCREST HUMIDOR with FOX and HOUND hunting scene brass on bronze gilded? NR
Here is an amazing vintage humidor from the Silver Crest Art Metal Company. It appears to be bronze with a brass or gold plated overlay of a hunting scene depicting the fox and hound. I have never seen one like this and the color appears more gold that anything. It could possibly be gold plated. There is also a very fine texture to the body of the humidor that reminds me of Tiffany Studios. There is the original glass insert that is in perfect condition and undamaged. Most of what you normally see from this company is the silver on bronze pieces. But this one is much rarer. The bottom has a new felt lining. But it is signed SILVERCREST on the bottom. The lid has the original sponge holder and is stamped 2472. The humidor remains in excellent vintage condition, making it the ideal decorative element in your collection. Arts and Crafts bronze ... morehumidors are highly collectible. We love the shape of this one and also the beautiful patina. Silver Crest was the trademark used by the Smith Metal Arts Company of Buffalo; expert craftsman from the Heintz Art Metal Shop formed the new company in 1919. Up for auction is this Bronze& Sliver Heintz Arts and Crafts Humidor. This is a vintage item fresh from an estate sale here in Maine. It has the Heintz diamond trademark and a pattern date of 1912. It measures 8 1/2 wide 2 1/2 inches high and 3 1/2 inches deep and has a good patina but not a really dark bronze tone and I would guess it has was polished within the last 10 years or so.
