Holding a bunch of roses and a crucifix. The portrait is based on the sculptures by Father Marie-Bernard which were created from the 1920s onwards. The reverse is blank. There is a jump ring in the bail. Saint Teresa's image is always connected with roses. As she prophesied"After my death I will let fall a shower of roses" Teresa Martin was born in 1873 and joined the Carmelite nuns along with several of her sisters. She died of consumption at the young age of 24 in 1897. She was beatified in 1923 and canonised in 1925. So the medal is probably some time after that date as she is pictured with a halo. The medal, which measures 1 and 1/4 inches high including bail(3 cm) weighs 4.2 gm. There is a raised triangular mark on the bail, which is possibly the foundry or the maker's mark. There is a little wear to the raised parts of the medal; not unusual for a well-loved vintage pendant. Thérèse of Lisieux is the patron saint of aviators. Florists, illness and missions and in 1944 Pope Pius XII named her co-patroness of France alongside Joan of Arc. The basilica of Lisieux dedicated to St Teresa is one of the most-visited places of pilgrimage after Lourdes. And this is a special souvenir item, probably created there.

VERY HANDSOME ART NOUVEAU SILVERED STAMP BOX
A very pretty early 20th century stamp box. The hinged, pierced lid depicting a sunflower and leaves with twisting stems in typical Art Nouveau style. Inside are two scooped compartments for postage stamps. The exterior is silver plate on what I think is a brass body. In excellent condition; the hinged lid opens and closes smoothly. The silvering in perfect condition with but a little depletion on the uppermost surface of the lid which serves to give the decoration added depth and very attractive patination. Measures 3.25 inches by 2 inches by just over 1 inch high(8 x 5 x 2.5 cms) and weighs 195 grams. I am very happy to post worldwide. Rare vintage Running or Track and Field trophy from the 1920's or earlier depicting a sculptural representation of"Triumph" This Art Deco style trophy is cast in a silvered lead metal alloy with very fine detail in the goddess figurine. Vintage Art Deco Silvered Modern Styles Decanters, Ice Bucket, Glasses, Tray Set
Hi and thank you for viewing this auction! Please read everything and view all the pictures before you decide to bid. This auction is for a Vintage Art Deco Silvered Modern Styles Decanters. Ice Bucket, Glasses, Tray Set. This is one cool set and in near mint condition for something that I believe is from the 70's or earlier. It is what I have called an art deco modern styled bar set. This set includes two decanters. Four high ball glasses, four old fashion glasses, one ice buckets and a tray with base. No for more specific details. This is a silvered smoked mirror set. The ice bucket is completed silvered and measures 4-1/2" tall and is 5-3/4" in diameter. It is in mint condition, never used from what I can tell. Then there are four old fashions that are half silvered and half clear. The measure 3-1/4" tall and 3" ... morein diameter. Also never used and in mint condition. The high balls, all four measure 5-5/8" tall and 2-3/4" in diameter. All the same design as the old fashion. The decanters have a diamond cut design and measure 9-1/2" tall x 4" wide. The condition is that both are free from damage to the glass. One of the stoppers has a crack in the plastic stopped that fits over the glass and seems not to fully fit into the decanter but is snug when in the decanter. Finally the tray which measures 10-1/2" wide x 17-1/4" long and is in a chrome finish. It has a formica piece that rests on the base. This is perfect. The tray has minimal loss of the chrome around the handles and some at the base. This is a heave set weighing over 12 lbs. I have provided detailed pictures for your review. Straub and Sohn and"Ritter and Co. merged to form'Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik' Later in 1883 glassworks were built on the Geislingen factory site. To enable the company to produce its own glass inserts for tea glasses, vases and table-centre pieces. In 1890 WMF tookover Galvanoplastischen Kunstanstalt(Galvanoplasty Art Institute) in Munich, the production facilities of which were moved to Geislingen in 1894 and stayed there until 1950. In 1892 WMF developed a special technique for silver plating cutlery, whereby the silver is distributed in a way that, at the points of the cutlery most exposed to wear, the coating is double the thickness and is Known as"Perfect Hard ... moreSilver plating" the technique is still unique to WMF. It is in great condition for its age but the silver has been rubbed back in parts and the metal underneath is showing through. It has acquired a fabulous time worn shabby chic look, which in my opinion only enhances its appeal. It still has its original tin liner, which is in great condition. On the inside of the item, it is stamped Brevetée 700. It has been made by two pieces of metal being locked together by way of pins on each side on the inside.
