He went on the talk about a restored hold in the center and how it happened. The second letter is from the Orleans Art Gallery. In the letter they attribute the painting to G. Cagnacci and give it an insurance value of $5,000. The third and last letter is from the desk of Donald B. McGuire and to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Jan. 23, 1981. In this letter the painting is again described with a mention about Mr. Sterling, who he says was a past curator at the Louvre. Guido Cagnacci(January 19. 1601– 1663) was an Italian painter of the late-Baroque period He belonged to the Forlì painting school and to the Bolognese School. Please note that I will be separately listing two antique reverse painted mezzotints today. This is an 1800 antique reverse painted Mezzotint on early glass titled Mary Magdalene Washing Christ's Feet. Unfortunately. It's damaged. Approximately 15% of the print has separated from the glass and a lot of that has crackled/torn. There is a hole measuring approximately 1 inch(2.54 cm) x 1/4 inch(63 cm) and tears all around that(this is the worst damage) The frame has scuffs. Scratch marks and some paint loss. It has its original hanging ring on top. The frame measures overall 16 inches x 12 inches(40.6 cm x 30.5 cm) The mezzotint measures 14 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches(36.8 cm x 26.7 cm) The print is in its original frame. Mary Magdalene Statue Wood Antique 9"
Up for auction is an antique wood statue of Mary Magdalene standing 9" tall. As you can see from one of the photos above the tag under the base states it's from the 17th century. I have no way of knowing whether that is true. But it's a nice piece anyway.
