Up for auction is this very*RARE* Saint Rita Statue she is very old from the early 19th century she was found in the basement of an old rectory that was set to be demolished due to the age of the building. She has some expected knicks and dings with a piece that is so old and was probly shuffled from place to place over the years. I did not clean her up as she is very old and I did not want to ruin the originality of this piece she can be touched up in spots where she has been chipped. But her head hands and everything is in great condition all original. She is a great find and I am sure many payers were answered while nuns. Priests and parishnors alike prayed to her. She measures 26" tall and her delicate features on her face are incredibly likelike and still in great condition. Insurance must be included on this rare piece! MEDAL SAINT JEAN FRANCOIS REGIS The Miraculous Medal Made in France Used 1838-1890 Size: 19-26 mm Metal: Brass Jean-François Régis, known as Saint John Francis Regis and St. Regis. 31 January 1597– 30 December 1640) was a French priest of the Society of Jesus, recognized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. His feast day is 16 June. Jean-François Régis was born 31 January 1597. In Fontcouverte, Aude, in the Languedoc region of southern France. His father, Jean Régis, had recently been ennobled as a result of service rendered during the Wars of the League. His mother, Marguerite de Cugunhan, was of a noble family. He was educated at the Jesuit College of Béziers. On 8 December 1616, in his nineteenth year, he entered the Jesuit novitiate at Toulouse and he took his vows two years later.
