Vintage 1960's Modern teak wood Replogle world globe USA rotates on teak stand
A vintage Replogle world globe most likely from the 1960's or so. 12" World Nation Series. It still has Yugoslavia. Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. But best of all it has a great Modern tea k wood stand from that era. It is very stylish.it has a large 8 1/2" wide gold metal ring as the bottom stand. It is connected to a teak wood sphere shape about 7" high. Which is on a slant. That is attached to the gold metal holder that has the lines of latitude. There is a black knob that moves and rotates the globe. It' s in wonderful condition. Clean. With no bad spots on the surface. The top and bottom of the globe, where the metal holder is attached. May have had washers at the point where the rods are inserted. But I a m not sure. See photos 6 and 8. I only say this because the hole is slightly rough and may be it's ... moresuppose to be hidden. As I said. This is just a guess and want to menti on but not a big deal in my opinion. The only tiny flaw is the bottom of the teak stand has a few tiny blue paint spots. It may come off w ith some effor t but I will leave that up to the buyer.see last photo. One of the leading European globemakers of the second half of the 19th century. The large 40 cm diameter globe is presented on a handsome ebonised stand with swing-out compass case and graduated half-meridian, with the outline colour for political borders applied entirely by hand. The globe can be dated with some confidence to 1906 as it shows Sakhalin Island divided between Japan and Russia and an independent Norway, both of which transpired in 1905 but it also still shows Indian Territory in what is now ... moreOklahoma which was also dissolved in 1907. You are viewing a vintage. I'm guessing 1970's) Cram's Imperial world Globe. It stands about 34" tall and is mounted on a wood pole that stands about 17.5" tall. The pole is connected to a 10" diameter metal base. The pole and base show vintage ware. Look at photos to see. The globe measures 12" in diameter and is mounted on it's axis by a rotating plastic gold colored support beams. They too show vintage ware. You can see paint missing on the top, near the axis on the support beam.The globe shows ware as well. The line around the equator is missing. It weighs about four pounds and is easy to move.
