This nice period lamp dates ca. 1900-1915 and manufactured in an era when they could be“wired” for either gas or electricity. It measures 24” tall(16” to the top of the socket) and sports an original 8” x 35” square shade having solid brass riveted frame with steel under structure. The textured opalescent slag glass is all original with no cracks. But a tiny corner loss as photographed. The base is brass plated cast iron with minor rust and it is very dirty and attic fresh. The owner thought it should be re-wired for sale, so that has been done. The lamp works, but it should be professionally tested before use) You will note a dent to the top cap and the shade attaches via a cast iron 4” shade holder. Vintage Slag Glass Lamp Shade with Winged Griffins Shown is a vintage caramel slag glass lamp shade with a very sturdy and ornate metal(lead) frame that features winged griffins. The frame has no breaks and no repairs and comes to you with its original untouched brass/gilded finish and aged patina. The shade measures 13 inches wide at the bottom(corner to corner) and 4 inches wide at the top and stands 7 inches tall. The 6 panels measure 6 inches at the bottom and 2 inches at the top. Richly coloured, curved art glass shade. The eight-panelled shade is"streaky" glass in marbled shades of green. Amber, brown and white in a gilded spelter frame. The lampshade is topped with a large flower-shaped crown. The shade is held in place by a small, round, finial held in place by a threaded mount. The eight border panels are separated by 3/4" wide flat. Gilded centre bars with double raised lines ... moredown the middle. The bars are framed by a raised line on either side. These centre bars are further enhanced by five, raised, extended open rectangles on either side. The border panels along the edge of the shade feature"streaky" glass in shades of purple. Turquoise blue and white. These horizontial rectangular panels have curvilinear frames with fretwork reminiscent of a garden gazebo with leaves. The metal frames are painted with gilt, green and muted shades of brown. The lamp base consists of one long rounded. Four-panelled post that is wider at the bottom than at the top. It curves down from circular rondelle at the neck widening to another rondelle at the bottom. The lamp post then rests on a beautiful rounded gilt base decorated with a pattern of four panels of wide raised geometric lines. Up for auction is this rare art nouveau or arts& crafts tall tulip oil lamp shade. Stands approx 250mm. Ten inches tall, and 165mm max diameter. The base fitting is approx 87mm diameter, external, and 78mm internal. It fits a standard 88mm'porte globe' globe carrier found on many Kosmos type lamps, also Wizard and some small Vulkan burners. will also fit the 3&1/2 inch carriers found on some smaller burners. Main body is overall etched. With a 3 x repeated pattern of raised enamelled medallions and droppers in between. The thin green lines are in a very fine paint. Top frill is finished in a very pale' dusty' lime green finish with a slight irridescence to it, to simulate ancient roman glass that has been buried for 2,000 years. Lamp has 16" diameter shade and stands 22" high, looks nice on or off, see pictures. Beautiful leaded art glass shade features graduating size light caramel colored segments over a band of darker caramel rectangles, with an apron consisting of 2 rows of colorful turquoise and blended color segments separated by light caramel segments and connected by alternating jewel-like green and red tapered oval pieces. Glass is all original. No replaced pieces. The leading has a gold tone finish, some minor wear. Metal base has color, shape and design that compliments the shade nicely. Original finish, minor wear only, see photos. The two sockets ... moreand pull chains work smoothly. The shade rests on a brass disc, which is unseen but is probably a replacement, looks newer. The cap/finial are definitely old but look to have been repainted, good match to base though. Lamp has been rewired at one time. Works fine. This is a super period Arts& Crafts/ Mission desk lamp. It is all handmade by an individual( not a mass produced company production piece) It is completely composed of solid Oak. Including the curved lamp shade element! The post or arm, from the base, also has a hand painted" floral" design/motif, and then on either side of the post are two" stepped" wood openings for photos to be inserted. I do have the glass panels/panes for these opens but removed them to take the pixz. It appears to be in an all original condition with a nice patina and an old alligatored varnish. The lamp will need to rewired, as it has the original cloth covered wiring and the original plug. I did not plug it in to see if it works in it's present condition, but the rewire job would be a quick and easy fix. Bradley& Hubbard Dual Socket Lamp Art Nouveau Style with Jewels Cabarchons This is a fantastic antique lamp from the early 1900's that does work! It comes with dual sockets. Globe bulbs, and has"Edision Patent" labeled on both light switches. Not sure of exact age but lamps with the same manufacturer stamp have dates of 1900-1915. It has a nice arts and crafts look with chunk jewel glass. Wiring looks to have been replaced around late 1950's early'60's(based on label on cord) Both globes are 60 watt bulbs. Brass in color. A magnet does not stick to it but it seems finish has a few small scratches so not sure exactly what metal it is- pictures do show the metal base from underneath. This attractive assembly features a 1895-1915 iron framed art glass shade and a shop made mission base from the 1920s-30s. It measures 21 ½” tall with 6” square base and stands 14 ¾” to the base of the light socket. Th base is hand made of solid walnut with original dark finish and is mounted with solid copper rivets. Wonderful example of a Mission Art& Craft movement. Very interesting. Beautiful and elegant table lamp. An unusual and unique design. Made of oak. Phenomenal leaded colorful glass and copper. It looks the pieces which support the shade are missing but could be replaced. The copper portion of the lamp originally might had some attachments. Oil lamp clear glass is included and at the present time supporting the shade. Couple of small copper corner pieces from the shade is also missing. Arts Crafts Slag Glass Pottery Base Table Lamp Art
This lamp measures: 19.5" across largest part of shade. 7" across at the base and 23.5" tall. I find no mark of any kind. I believe that the base is pottery. Possibly redware. It is not metal. It has a faux hammered look with arts and crafts flowers. No damage to the base. The metalwork on the shade repeats the pattern on the base. There are no breaks in the metal or cracks in the glass panels. I would guess that it is a white metal. Original finial. There is some corrosion or oxidation around the finial. Rare Antique Art Deco Czech Alien Ware Ditmar Urbach Arts & Crafts Pottery Lamp
Beautiful antique pottery lamp in excellent condition with no hairlines. Cracks, chips, etc. This lamp has been professionally reworked with a new cord, and each socket component has been rewired as well. The bottom of the pottery base is impressed Made in Czechoslovakia. The lamp rests on a circular wooden base that is app. 5 1/2" diameter. The lamp is approximately 23" high to the top of the finial. The pottery portion is about 13" to the base of the metal. All of the parts of this lamp are original, except the new cord. Needless to say this lamp functions properly with two pull chains as shown. VERY COOL ART DECO ARTS & CRAFTS ERA CAST IRON BRIDGE ARM DESK LAMP
This auction is for a very cool cast iron(I think) Art Deco desk lamp. It has a very angular steam punk look to it. I don't find the cold painted colors attractive on it but that's any easy fix. The lamp has been rewired and it does work. The shade is not original to the lamp but it doesn't look too bad. It probably could use something a little shorter and maybe wider for a shade. It measures about 15 1/4" high at it's tallest point. It is marked on the bottom inside with E727. A very nice piece of antique lighting that is most definitely a diamond in the rough.
