This F. B. Norton& Co. Worchester. Mass. jug came from an auction in Vermont. When I bid on the jug, I had no idea it had problems. The top has chips, see the 6th picture. The bottom has one chip, see the 7th picture. There is some light chipping in the design, see the 8th picture. The handle has two cracks, see the 10th and 11th picture, and there is a crack around the top, see the 5th, 6th, and last pictures. It measures 14.5 inches tall and 8.5" in diameter at the base.

This stoneware jug is 14 ¼ inches high and approx. 8 ½ inches in diameter. It is a two gallon jug and is decorated with a hand drawn or possibly stenciled flower. This is a beautiful jug found at an estate sale. This measures about 14" high and 9" across the bottom. The blue decoration is nice and bright. This was well taken care of. There is an 1/8" knick near the decoartion but I believe this was part of how it was made, otherwise no chips or cracks, just some normal imperfections from when this was made. Really a nice piece. Interesting vintage jug circa 1855-1873. Associated with the Rogers' Southgate& Co. of Worcester. MA. dealers of shoe findings, located at the corner of Main and Pleasant Streets. Company went out business in 1888. The salt glazed jug has a grey hue and is imprinted with the company name. The mouth of the jug has chipping on the right side(see scan) otherwise is in good condition considering its age

This is a beautiful old 19th Century Stoneware Jug in excellent original condition! It was made by F.B. Norton& Sons. Worchester Mass. It is nearly perfect, with the only flaw being a small chip near the rim(shown) that probably occurred during manufacturing, as it appears to be under the glaze. It measures 11" high, 7" wide, and is heavy at 7-8 pounds. Probably displayed most of its life, and it would be an excellent edition to your collection! Low starting bid and no reserve!
