The Toby mug itself is in"As Is" with a large chip to the Tricorn hat rim. The right arm has also been broken off and glued back in place. The Toby is unmarked. But I guarantee it to be old dating from the early 19th century. If you have a Toby mug like this missing the lid, this is for you. This rarity is also well worth professional restoration or displayed"As Found" I offer this large rarity with the opening bid the only reserve. DIMENSIONS: This Toby mug is 9 1/8" H. covered) 8 1/8" H. uncovered) x 3 3/8" W. x 5 5/8" L. Great early 1800s Georgian glazed stoneware mug with Toby and classical sprigs
We are listing this great early 1800s Georgian glazed stoneware mug which is decorated with both a Toby sprig and two classical/mythology sprigs. The piece is unmarked. But the quality is very good, including detailed engine turning above the base and a decorative handle. The mug is 3.5 inches tall, almost 5.5 inches at its widest point, and in very good condition. There is a chip under the bottom rim and a few tiny flaws in the glaze(mostly inside the mug) Please view the close up pictures and judge for yourself.
