Antique Toby Character Jug Majolica Colors 8 1/2" Tall This is an antique Toby character jug with the handle on the back. It measures approx. 8 1/2" tall. And approx. 3 1/2" wide, 6" from the front to the end of the handle. This jug has beautiful multi-color drip glaze. The interior sides are also glazed. He has a frothy mug on his left knee which he holds with both hands. He has an angry look on his face! There is no makers mark on the bottom. There may be a purple stamp or initials on the inner part of the hat(the area has a rough surface) although I can't make it out. It is quite heavy.almost 2 lbs! He is in very good condition. There are no crack or chips on the body or rim. There are a few chips on the bottom of the base. There are a few small firing pits on the body. I do not see any crazing. This is a classic Sarreguemines character or Toby jug that was most likely produced between 1890-1925. The wonderful matte green jug is their Puck/Jester form. The jug stands 5-3/4" 14.6 cm) tall to the spout and measures 6-1/2" 16.5 cm) across from the handle to the spout. There is a small curing crack from manufacture where the handle joins the jug that is shown above. The piece otherwise is in excellent condition without chips. Cracks, flea bites, or repairs. There is a nick to the inside of the pinky finger. No other nicks or cracks. There is crazing in the glaze. A couple of color spot losses to his red and green jacket. Charming antique toby. Vtg ARTONE England Hand Painted Mini Toby Character Jug: Old Woman/Lady/Granny Up for auction is a vintage ARTONE hand painted ceramic pottery mini toby character jug or creamer featuring an old lady in a bonnet with a flower at the front spout. It's 2.75" at its tallest and and in nice condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks, just some crazing/ crackle to the glaze from age. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its exact age. It's marked ENGLAND. Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week. If you happen to purchase after I return from the post office on shipping day it will be a full week wait until I am able to ship again.
