Location: Cumberland, United States …… When my consigner first bought this large, handmade Tugboat he thought he was just buying a large model, but as he was putting it in his truck he noticed ... morethe top section was loose. He was able to remove this section and reveled all the components to the original, handmade Steam Engine. This Tug is not just a model, but a Steam Pond Model. Measuring 39 inches long by 10 1/2 inches wide by 25 inches tall to the top of the smokestack. Inside the hull he found the back mast of the tug boat and the small Pilothouse Eagle, with a broken wing. (We have used a tiny piece of removable wax to hold the wing in out photographs.) The doors open and inside the pilot house you can see the ship’s wheel. He also found a letter about this model of the Celtic, which was made by Norman Parrish who was the chief engineer of the tug.

Antique Primitive Southern Jersey Manganese and Lead Glazed Straight-Sided Redware Jug For your Antique Redware Collection Details Description: A very nice piece of American folk art. An antique redware straight-sided jug made in South New Jersey. The jug is glazed on both the inside and out side with a manganese-lead glaze. It has an applied handle with typical raised center and depression on the bottom where it meets the jug. It is decorated with incised lines at the shoulder and has a large mouth with a recessed neck and straight sides. The bottom of the jug is unglazed as is about 3/8" on the side at the bottom. As you can see from the photos, the outside of the pot has a nice dark glaze indicative of manganese glazing. Date: Late 1800s to Early 1900s. Origin: Southern New Jersey. Size: 1 3/4" in diameter at the top. 4 1/2" ... morein diameter at the base, and is ~7 1/2" in height Maker: Unknown. Marks: None. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: Beautiful rich deep dark brown color glaze inside and out and a very nice classic shape Condition: The jug is in very good condition with no cracks. Repairs, or hairlines. It does have some scratches and one or two small spots where the glaze is lost. It also has a few minor recent chips on the handle which can be seen in the photos. Finally as is the case with all these primitive old redarware pieces, the jar has a few of the usual defects you would expect such as pops, unglazed areas and uneven spots. This auction is for a stoneware jug that dates to the 1800s and is from the South or Mid-Atlantic region. The jug is approx. 6" tall and 5" wide. So it is a squat little jug. The glaze is dark brown and has numerous imperfections in the glazing, some tiny chips inside the spout, but no cracks or breaks. All in all the jug, which was made to be used in it's day, is in good condition and still an attractive display piece. Before bidding. For auction is an unusually scarce antique stoneware half-gallon or so. Advertising jug N.C. CANNON WINES& LIQUORS 309 WASHINGTON VICKSBURG MISS. from Nathan C. Cannon, an African American who operated a saloon on Washington Street in Vicksburg, Mississippi, at the turn of the twentieth century. N. C. Cannon was African American, and his advertising jugs are rare. These Cannon jugs just are not around anymore. And chances are it will be a long time before another one shows up on ebay. Mississippi declared statewide prohibition in 1908, and this jug probably dates around 1905 or so. The stoneware jug is in fair to good condition. There are a few very small lip chips, a few super small chips or rubs ... moreof the brown, original handle. The main issue is that there is about an approximately 1 ¼” circular patch in the back below the handle(see photos) This is how it was when I bought it. I don’t know if it was an original repair after the jug was made or as some later time. It does show some hairline cracks that may just be from the glaze in that area that may be from an impact but I just don’t know. The size is 7 ¾” tall by 6” in diameter. The stencil is quite nice as you can see in the photographs. Even with the patched area this is a super rare jug and displays great. The patch is in the back and lower so you do not see it from the front at all. The jug is still very sold and not at all falling apart. Vy Old Vintage Antique Primitive Southern Pottery Crock Jug Milk Jar Alabama Ga
Found yesterday at the Summerville flea market. And were told it had original roots in the Lookout Valley area of Chattanooga. Our best guess puts it as an Alabama or more likely Georgia piece, based on the redness of the smooth ground bottom. It is an almost salmon-red, so Alabama is still an option though, in our opinion. condition is terrific, with only a couple extremely minor nicks around the spout, all shown up close in the photos. No cracks or hairlines of other issues, and you could fill this one to the rim and throw it right over your shoulder-SOLID! Measures about 12 3/4" high, and appears unmarked. Rare "Real" Southern Antique Buggy Jug AAFA crock whiskey pottery Great Glaze
Here is real buggy jug. Most of the jugs sold as buggys are not of the correct form. This one would not tip over on a bumpy ride. It was found in an old barn in Florida. It has a killer gunmetal glaze with nice drips. The jug does have hair line cracks at the bottom but they are stable and I don't think they go all the way through to the inside. I filled it with water and it did not leak at all over night. You can see the cracks in the last two pictures. I have not seen another jug like this one with this sort of glaze before and consider it to be a great find. A wonderful addition to any pottery collection. Jug is six inches tall.
