The owner says this is early 20th century. The Hinode, moriage slip decor, a ceramic keg with wooden spigot, very good condition. The cork fell inside, there is slight wear to the inner part of the wooden spout, but no real damage. I am not sure if it was really meant to hold sake or liquid, or if just a decoration. About 7 inches tall and long, weighs almost 2 pounds before packing.

Six Geisha Girl Plates, Porcelain w/ Raised Slip Decor, Vintage, Made in Japan
These six geisha girl plates are marked"JAPAN" on the back. They measure approximately 6 inches in diameter and have a height of approximately 5/8 of an inch. These lovely plates are vintage porcelain. They are hand-painted with a green border and stylized bamboo that is enhanced by raised slip. Also known as moriage. The bamboo surrounds a floral garden and women in kimonos. The plates also have scalloped edges. These six plates have been photographed individually(with numbered Post-It notes) to help you judge the condition for yourself- please see the last six photos. I will also try to point out any obvious flaws. Small points of paint loss are noted around the lower edge rim of Plate#3. Small flea bite noted to the bottom lift rim of Plate#4. Also. This plate has a dimple that appears to be glazed over. It is difficult to see ... morein the photograph, but it appears near the middle of the plate to the left of the thick red line. For Plate#5. A white dot is present, but it appears to be the same slip that is used to decorate the plate. Plate#6 has three tiny flea bites or loss of paint to the rim. No breakage or cracking noted. Old British pottery early REDWARE PLUME/FEATHER slip"T" decor HUGE 16+"pie plate
Awesome. Boldly decorated, 16.5" by 13.75" rectangular 3" deep English trough, trencher bowl, pork pie pan. You could bake 4 and 20 black birds in this no problem. Condition is unbeatable for this age. The center plume forms a capital T or J when viewed from one direction and a L when you look at it from the other way. The decoration is not quite as white as it appears in the pictures. It actually has a more yellowish cast from the pale amber glaze. Heavy, because it is so large. There are a couple of these on both here and Ruby Lame in the $250 range but not so nice as this one.

A student of Bernard Leach, in the 1920s. He was joined by a younger potter. Ray Finch in the 1930s and I understand that this design, known as the bumblebee fish, was one of his. Finch bou ght the pottery from Cardew in the 1940s and it is still in existence today. Run by Finch's son, Mike.
