The small blemishes below the Red Wing seal and on the 5 appear to have been there from the time it was fired. There are no cracks or chips in the pottery and the interior is in near perfect condition with no staining which is very unusual. Old Antique Redwing 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock Jug Butter Churn Red Wing
We have this old Redwing butter churn crock to offer in good as found condition. It is marked with the wing and Union Stoneware logo. It has wire handles. No lid and a nice 4" wing. The crock has a flaw on the bottom that looks like it was made this way. Just a hole, small. not a chip. There is a 1" crack that is on the bottom rim that is also a firing crack. Only shallow and not seen inside. This is a good Redwing Churn and is a hard to find piece. It is in good clean condition and is 16 1/2" tall. There are a few chips along the top shoulder and the bottom edge. But none are very big(see pictures) This jug is about 18" tall and 12" in diameter. There is a cork that is in the neck that appears to be non-original. Very nice piece that will display nicely! Due to the weight and how fragile these are. Good news: it's large and all original. Original top and dasher. Bad news: There is one rim chip. Not bad. There is a crack at the top, inside and out about 12" long. The crock is quite solid with no movement, but when you rap your knuckles on the crock you can hear it vibrate. The crack is in the back so not visible when displayed. No other cracks or chips. Bottom edge is in excellent condition. The lid edge has what looks like damage, but it is not. it's original molding marks under the glaze.
