For your consideration is a dome top jug that has brown glaze above the shoulder and salt glaze below the shoulder. This jug has a capacity of one gallon. Embossed on the bottom in all upper case lettering is the words: MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO. RED WING(at least that is what I think it says; th mark was mostly erased during manufacturing) The top of the handle is above the spout. But only approximately 1/8 of an inch. A cork is in this jug. Wow. This rustic jug is 118 years old! So sad about the crack(see photo) 9.25" tall 7.5" wide 5 pounds At least the chips on the bottom barely show. See the two photos where the jug is on white paper to show how the chips look when the jug is upright. There are various flea bites(I think they're called) But not too many. Very Rare Antique I think Red Wing Pottery Dome Top Hand Painted"Little Brown Jug" only it's not brown or Little. The Handle looks to be applied. It has no cracks. Or repairs. It does hae a few chips at the mouth of the jug. on the back base& bottom pictured. And, the paint on the flower is crackling and delicate(must be handled with care) also pictured. I think this jug is ca. 1890s- 1940s give or take, but I'm not 100% sure? The shoulder of the vessel is domed. The jug's 7 1/2" tall again I think it's a one gallon jug. The oval is 1 11/16" wide; the writing in this oval says: RED WING UNION STONEWARE CO. RED WING MINN; stoneware with this oval in combination with a two inch wing was only produced from 1933 to 1936. This jug has a total height of almost 15" from the surface it is sitting on, to the shoulder this jug, is almost 9 7/8" The bottom is approximately 9 7/8" in diameter. This jug has glaze skips and other manufacturing imperfections. A previous owner glued a cork into this jug; this cork has been removed, but remnants of it still remain. On the bottom are two chips; when the jug is sat upright, the larger is totally invisible. For your consideration is a one gallon. Common style jug, made by Minnesota Stoneware Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota. This company existed from 1883 to 1906; in 1906 it merged with Red Wing Stoneware Company to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The embossed writing on the bottom is 1/2 of an inch tall and says: MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO RED WING; however due to sloppiness during manufacturing, some of this writing is indecipherable. The handle was attached by hand and was attached at an angle; this and other manufacturing defects make this jug unique. This jug was touching another piece of stoneware during firing and when the two pieces were separated, the other piece got off with some of this jug's glaze from the handle and side. There is one Factory flaw in the handle meeting the spout. The turkey dropping is inside the flaw showing it was done in the firing. Another factory flaw around the neck. Up for bid is an antique Red Wing five-gallon jug. Measuring approximately 18" tall. This Red Wing jug is signed"5(Red Wing logo) Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minn. It weighs in excess of 20-1/2 lbs. unpacked. This jug is free from cracks, but does have a chip on the bottom(pic 4) where it sits, and a small flake in the upper trim(pic 8) which do not affect its beauty or display. 1gallon tan stoneware jug. Almost mint condition with one very small flake on base and the same on the shoulder rim in the back. Embossed"Home Made Wine/ Guaranteed Pure/ Geo. Klehm/ Arlington Heights. Ill. A very nice jug in about mint condition with the two minor flaws noted. No other chips, cracks or wear. See some natural separation in the handle underneath. The base is embossed"Minnesota Stoneware" and more illegible letters. The"M" beginning of the word Minnesota is not legible. It looks like Red Wing is also embossed but it is incomplete. The condition is very good– no cracks, no later years chips, on the shoulder edge there is a flaw that is glazed over, probably from manufacturing. There are 2 glaze pops and a couple rough spots. Having lived in Northern Michigan, I've seen quite a few Red Wing jugs& crocks– the condition of this one is a lot better than many I have seen. Vintage stoneware advertising jug. Says Hazel Pure Food Co. Chicago-New York. I think this is made by Red Wing. But I'm not certain. There is no makers mark anywhere, and the research info. out there is very skimpy. Measures 10 1/2" high. 7 1/4" diameter. Single handle at the top. 1" diameter at the top. Weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. Holds 1 gal, or a bit more to the very top. Overall very good condition. No major cracks that I can find. There are a few minor chip. And some crazing, but it is watertight, nothing leaked out when I filled it.

Here is a terrific old Red Wing Kansas City Advertising Jug. It is one gallon capacity and approximately 8 1/2" tall and 7" inches wide. It is not marked. But I am confident that it was made in Red Wing(per the glaze, shape and clay color) The stamped label is very clear and bold. This has a shiny gloss black glaze which is unevenly coated on the jug. The black color flows into a reddish Terra Cotta style color at some areas at the base and underside of the jug. This is marked Red Wing Minnesota Stoneware Co. on the bottom. This likely dates to about 1900. ITEM MEASUREMENTS This measures about 8 3/8" high. 7 3/4" wide and 7 1/2" ... moredeep. 2 gallon whiskey jug either on the fireplace or the kitchen on the old farm in Titus County Tx. The jug has alot of character marks and the original cork that has fallen down inside.Some where in the Smiths family pictures my grandfather has the jug over his shoulder at the Mt.Peasant tx Pottery which is no longer exist. Offered for your consideration is this mid-century vintage Red Wing art deco style pitcher in the Tahitian pattern of bronze lusterware with a glossy pumpkin orange interior. The pattern features a deeply swirled body and large open handle. The pitcher is 7" wide from spout tip to handle edge and a full 12" tall to the top of the handle. It is oval in shape. About 5" x 3" at the center. The oval base is 5" x 3" In very good condition with no chips or cracks. Antique Red Wing Minnesota Stoneware Marked 1 Gallon Wide Mouth Brown Whisky Jug
This is a nice antique bottom marked Red Wing/ Minnesota Stoneware wide mouth whisky jug with dark brown glaze in good. Clean condition. There are absolutely no cracks, but there is a chip on the handle that was repaired with a hard clay-like material, shown close-up in the photos. The glaze is shiny and even with a few very light scuffs and scratches. It measures 8" H x 7 3/4" in diameter. It will be packed securely and insured during shipping.

This is an excellent antique bottom marked Red Wing/ Minnesota Stoneware whisky jug in near-mint condition with dark brown glaze that was discolored along the bottom in the kiln giving it some wonderful green and yellow tones.
