From an old Lunt ad, Strange as it may seem, the small cream pitcher which we know today did not exist much before 1720. To hold milk or cream a"jug" was used. Apparently they were not made in great numbers although they could be styled attractively as shown here. Today this piece may still be used for its origianal purpose, or as a small but appropriate hot beverage server. Geoorgian in style. Height: 7 inches. Capacity: 1 pint. It weighs 12 1/2 oz. The handle is some kind of black plastic that feels a little like wood. All US parcels are shipped free with insurance. Please pay with PayPal. This beautifully shaped helmet creamer is decorated with a large hand painted spray of pink. Purple and blue flowers on one side with a small rose branch on the other. A blue violet is painted under the spout. Inside rim is decorated with a scrolled floral pattern. The creamer sits in a flared foot and has a looped handle. P71' has been written underneath. Which probably denotes the pattern number. The creamer sits at approximately 3 3/4 inches at its highest point. The creamer is in excellent condition with no chips. Antique / Vintage Guernesey Jug/Creamer
This silver tone antique jug is pretty primitive. Some versions of the Guernesey coins similar to the one affixed to the jug date back to the 1800s. It measures about 5 1/2" top of lid to bottom. The lid is slightly misshapen but just imagine where this jug has been! I've included a picture of the inside which has some residue of whatever the jug held last. England c.1880 This transfer printed toy cream pitcher or milk jug circa 1880 was originally part of an early child's or doll house play tea set. The color is sepia or chocolate brown against a creamy white earthenware. The pear shaped pitcher stands about 3 5/8" tall with a scalloped rim and applied handle. It features a water hen or Guinea Hen(the English name for the American Coot) feeding in a lily pond with cat tails and reeds. The background is an aesthetic composition of lush flowers. Swallows, and an inset of a castle. There is a zig zag patterned trim along the rim. This pattern is pictured and discussed in Lorraine Punchard's Playtime Porcelain and Pottery as well as Petra Williams' Romantic Staffordshire. The jug is ... moremarked Staffordshire England. The pattern name is WATER HEN registered with number 754 by Charles Allerton and Sons. A pottery manufacturer in the Staffordshire region of England who was well known for his whimsical children's tea sets. The little jug is in great condition. With no chips cracks or repairs. The workmanship is haphazard, which is one of the reasons many people collect it.not fine china, and not meant to be; it was made for children and probably considered disposable. The transfers are not aligned neatly, there is runny glaze and little bumps and dips and transfer wrinkles and glazed over edge frits original to the making. Staffordshire Copper Lustre Jug/Creamer 1800 - 1860
Up for a 5 Day Auction is this Gorgeous Copper Lustre Jug. Actually it is a creamer but that is what it would have been called during the time that it was made. Copperlustre was made predominately between 1800 and 1860. This piece is completely covered with the copper to about an inch and a half inside. These were usually over a good grade of earthenware and sometimes over porcelain. The height of the jug is about 4 and a quarter inches at it's highest.the handle. At it's widest it is just under 5 inches. The rim is slightly scalloped. The body is ribbed. There is a scrolling design underneath the spout and handle. There is a surface chip to the right of the handle just below the outside of the rim. Because it is a brick color underneath. Even when looking directly at it, it sort of blends in to some degree. The lustre is great condition and it ... morehas no repairs! Tiny discoloration spot and a small chip to it's rim. But overall in great condition without paint loss or damages. I am unsure of the maker as it is unmarked, but have been told it is c.1830 and is"soft paste" porcelain. These great little old pitchers are an affordable thing to collect and not only display, but to use as well. We have our toothbrushes in one, and another filled with dried lavender next to it in the bathroom. Since you don't want liquid soaking into old porcelain, I use a small glass and set it inside my antique pitchers and use them as vases. Cut some ferns or tree branches and fill 2 or 3 for a beautiful display on your table or nightstand. Even just a dozen mums or carnations from the grocery store will make 2 or 3 good displays! Pink lustre outlines on handle and neck, navy blue and orange pattern, with grass green leaves and lines of pink lustre. Antique Early 19th or 18th? Cent. Wedgwood Jasperware Deep Blue Creamer Jug
I believe this antique Wedgwood jasperware pitcher/creamer dates to pre-1820. Based on information found online. However, I am not an expert, and can't guarantee the veracity of the websites I consulted before listing this, so please do your own research if an exact date of manufacture is important to you. This is marked on the bottom with only the word"WEDGWOOD" and no letters or digits. There are a couple of other incised marks, but they may simply be stray marks of a tool? I don't know. Again, I would appreciate any information or opinions on whether the other marks mean anything at all. This is a lovely little creamer/pitcher. And the color is unusual. It is a deep, almost periwinkle blue. Please note that the color is not as light as it looks in my photos. I would be happy to take this outdoors to try to get a photo ... morethat shows the color better, although I can't guarantee that my camera will do any better outdoors. The listing photos were taken near a window on this slightly overcast day. The pitcher is in very good condition for its age. There's a bit of discoloration on the inside. And on the outside near the base. No chips-unless you count the tiny indents in the clay on rim that I think may have been there since manufacture-and no cracks. The creamer measures 3&1/2" tall and 2&1/2" in diameter at base.

Antique Europe Porcelain Figural Jug Pitcher Old Man Kris Kringle, Santa Creamer
Here is a wonderful antique porcelain figural cream pitcher or jug. This unmarked pitcher is hand painted and mold produced of an old man. Possibly an early Kris Kringle or Santa pitcher. The pitcher jug is glazed on the inside with a clear glaze, and painted on the outside with satin glazes. This little figural jug is unmarked on the bottom to manufacturer or country of origin. This creamer measures 4 1/4 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide from the end of the beard to the handle. Very good antique condition, with its only issue a surface chip next to the spout that has removed the glaze from the hat(see photos please) This is a very cool little pitcher and would look so great displayed in your home.
