Hand Forged Blacksmith Gate Latch Door Handle Set Rustic Antique Vintage Look
This is a nice set of gate or door hardware. Includes a handle which measures 7" long. A latch measuring 5" and two staples which are approximately 1" x 2.25" All pieces were hand forged in a blacksmith shop on our farm using antique methods; a coal fire, an anvil and hammers and other hand tools, just as these pieces would have been made a century or more ago. Will add a rustic touch anywhere they are used. The staples are used with the latch- one in the round end to secure it. The other on the other side of door/gate for the hooked end. We recommend pre-drilling holes for these when installing.

Vintage Blacksmith Hand Forged Large Iron Hook and Eye. This Iron Hook measures 5 3/4" and hook is 2 3/4" across. Hook opening is 1" Eyehole measures 3/4" in diameter. Hook and eye were pounded from a solid piece of iron- note the imperfections. Came out of an old Maine barn- It was rusty but I've cleaned it up some and lightly oiled it to preserve it- that's why it has such a sheen to it. Overall length from outside of one ring to outside the other ring is 30" The rings have a 3 1/8" o.d. Hanging from each ring is a chain with a decorative metal piece on the end. Lot of 8 rusty iron chains with hooks on one end. Some of the hooks are crude hand made. Do not know if the chain was hand made. Got these last week at a farm estate sale. Took 9 pictures. Vintage Horse Hitching Ring 2 3/4" Found in Blacksmith Shop, Hand Forged Iron
This is an old Horse Hitching Ring It was found in a Old Blacksmith's Shop built in the mid 1800's. That was being dismantled. You can use this for many decorative purposes if you choose. It is made of Hand Forged Iron. And has the seam from where it was hammered over. It is in great shape for its age. It is 2 3/4" diameter. Inside diameter is 2" and the eye bolt is 3 1/4" long, the square nut turns freely. A hitching ring was used in a barn to tie up a horse. This antique ring could be placed on a closet door inside or on a barn door. Basement door or a shed for a great antique look. I am listing 2 other ones that are smaller in size. Rusty Wall Sign Hanger Wrought Iron Hand Forged Blacksmith Made Ca 1930 Vintage Measurements: 23 ¼” tall x 18 ½” x 1” 23 ¼” twisted rod is 3/8” square Weight: 3 lb. 8.3 oz. 1.6 kg) This old sign hanger has remnants of black and white paint and a rusty surface finish. The workmanship to form the twisted wall-side iron bar and the steel curves and bend-overs indicates a blacksmith’s hand was involved. Likely circa 1930. There are two 5/32” holes. One at the top and one near the bottom(see last pic) for mounting the hanger to a wall. Screws not provided. The wall-side bar has a very slight outward bend that should not interfere with installation. Hanging loops adjust slightly and are on 10 1/4" centers: one looks like a replacement. Both look solid.
