Lunt Sterling Silver Flatware William and Mary 1131 Grams Silver Monogramed
Up for auction is this sterling Lunt flatware set. The set is pictured in photo one but there is one more teaspoon than photographed. The flatware set includes the intials EAN and the set weighs a total of 1.131 grams of silver with 868 grams that have no added weight and 4 blunt blade knives with weighted handles and non sterling blades that weigh 263 grams. Picture four includes the pieces that have some very minimal damage but it must be mentioned. The teasoons each have a tiny dent to the bowl. One of the knives have pitting to the blade while the other knife has a dent to the handle. The butter knife has a slight bend to the blade. This estate sale piece would be great to use or scrap!

This is a stunning and large tankard made some 320 years ago in the reign of William& Mary in London 1691 by Robert Timbrell. The tankard is of classic shape with a flat lid with wide stepped rim and ... morea superb scroll thumbpiece to the back. The tankard has straight tapering sides and a stepped bottom rim. The tankard has a lovely flat backed tapering scroll handle with hexagonal terminal and initals I G. The tankard is 8 inches/ 204 mm wide to the back of the handle and it is 5-1/2 inches/ 140 mm in diametre. It stands 7 inches/ 178 mm high and weighs an impressive 788 grams. Both the lid and the side of the tankard have clear hallmarks- lion passant. London mark, letter O for 1691 and maker's mark RT for Robert Timbrell. The handle also has matching maker's mark. This bowl of this ladle is in a very rare form-that of a flared shell. Almost a"fleur de lis" shape. The more common shell pattern is not flared outward as this one is, but rather resembles more of a clam shell. A lovely sterling silver holy medal featuring Jesus displaying His Sacred Heart on one side. And on the other is Mary holding the Infant Jesus and what looks like a scapular in the other hand. This medal is about an inch long. My camera doesn't take good close ups, but the medal is marked sterling. It is also nicely engraved with the name"Mary" within the rectangular cartouche. The hallmarks are; The lion passant to guarantee the sterling silver standard. The City mark for Birmingham. The date letter"G" to show that it was assayed in 1931. A maker's mark of"HG& S" for the well respected Henry Griffith and Sons of Leamington Spa. Famous for their thimbles and napkin rings. Please scroll down the page to see additional photographs of this item. 12 TOWLE MARY CHILTON STERLING SILVER DINNER KNIVES Presented is a great set of 12 sterling silver dinner size knives made by Towle Silversmiths. The knives are done in the Mary Chilton pattern which was first produced in 1912. Nine of the knives have been monogrammed with a C in a fancy script. The other three knives have not been monogrammed or engraved. The three unengraved knives have a slightly different shape to the blades as you can see in the first and last photograph. But the blades are very similar. The 9 knives with the C monogram have sterling silver handles and stainless steel blades. The other three knives have sterling silver handles and silverplated over carbon steel blades. The silver plating on top of carbon steel blades is in superb condition. The knives ... moreare marked with a makers mark for Towle and Sterling Handle. The nine knives with the monogram are also marked with Towle Stainless on the blades and a patent date on the handles. Six of the knives are marked Pat. 1912 and three knives are marked Pat. 1924. The condition is excellent. The handles have surface wear commensurate with age and light use and some small dents and dings here and there. But this is quite minor.
