VERY SCARCE* RARE ANTIQUE VTG 1880's VICTORIAN DOORBELL IN A DOOR KNOB COMBINATION SET This offering is for a rare antique door knob doorbell set made of steel and nickel plated brass in excellent working condition. The set is rare enough being a doorbell door knob combination. However this example is highly unusual in that the bell mechanism is activated by a twist action, rather than a push pull button as on most you will see. The exterior knob containing the twist button is made of steel with a molded decoration in high relief. The knob is unfinished bare metal with a dark surface patina including a bit of very minor surface rust. The interior knob is the bell mechanism and is made of nickel plated brass and steel. I am unsure of the maker of the knobs as there are no makers markings or dates but I would think they were made in the ... morelate 19th century, about the 1880's. The exterior knob is a standard size 2¼" in diameter and the interior knob is app. 2½" in diameter and the overall length including the twist button is app. 7 1/8" As mentioned the knobs are uncleaned and as found with an excellent surface patina. The only flaw worth mentioning is that the set screw for the exterior knob is missing. This great vintage pair of door knobs displays beautifully and definitely rate as one of the more unusual Victorian door knob sets produced. Antique Victorian old cast iron Door Knob plate mortise lock box set and key
This antique mortise lock set is circa 1880s. The back plates are 2 1/2' x 7 1/8' The back plates are cast iron about 1/4' thick. The knobs are also cast iron. The plates and knobs are bare with no finish. The box comes with a functional key. The front plate of the lock is 5/8' x 5 1/4' The box may be opened and the catch bolt can be reversed for doors that swing the other way. The spindle also comes with the set screws, everything shown in the first photo is included. A really handsome antique set with some nice details. If there are questions please ask them early.

VERY SCARCE* OLD ANTIQUE VTG Ca 1880's VICTORIAN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT FANCY BRASS DOOR KNOB SET This offering is for an antique or vintage door knob set made of heavy brass with beautiful decoration in high relief. I am unsure of who made the knobs as there are no makers markings or dates but I would think they were made in the late 19th century. About the 1880's. The knobs are a standard size 2¼" in diameter and the overall length of each knob is app. 2½" The knobs are uncleaned and as found with an excellent surface patina. The only flaws worth mentioning are that the set screw in one has the slot of the screw messed up to the point that I was not able to remove it, the second knob has had the head of the set screw broken off, so the remaining screw section will need to be drilled or gound out to remove the piece ... moreof steel shaft that protrudes. As they sit this great vintage pait of door knobs displays beautifully and definately rate as one of the more unusual and beautiful door knob sets produced. This Listing is for a Very Large Victorian Brass Door Handle or Knob. It is almost 3 inches in width. It comes with its'plate' and 2 nuts and 1 washer. It is threaded at its end but PLEASE NOTE that the thread at the tip has filled up with paint and may need to be reworked. There is still a good useable thread for over 1 inch. However. Outstanding Victorian Mansion Cut Glass Door Bell & Door Knob
Outstanding Victorian Mansion Cut Glass Door Bell& Door Knob I have been in the Antiques business for over 40 years and have never come across. Seen,or even heard of something like this. I was at the"Breakers" in Newport(Vanderbuilts Summer Mansion) a few weeks ago and what they had does not compare. This is not something that Grandma would have had on her house. It came from a Victorian Mansion. The Door Bell Switch and Door Knob appear as if it may have been made in France. Door Bell Totally unusual. The Large Doorbell switch consists of a Cut Glass outer Donought mounted to a Brass plate and has a Faceted Cut Glass Knob which activates a switch when pushed inward. It measures 4 inches in diameter. The knob is 1 3/4 inches in diameter. There is no damage at all on any of the cut glass points. Both the Donought and Knob have ... moreground and polished faceted surfaces with a cut design on the back sides which show throught to the front when viewing. The rear of the plate has the original Bell Switch contacts which spring the knob forward when relased. There are 4 beveled screw holes in the backer where screws need to be inserted under the Glass to mount it to a wall. When I got this. It was kind of grungy. The Brass plate where the Donought mounts had a Silver Painted surface to back the glass. The paint was deteriorated so I took it apart. Repainted the backer and the Brass Trim around the inner opening and the Brass trim where the knob mounts. While it was apart I photographed the back of the Donought to show it's cut design and the Plate it mounts on after repaint. After reasembly I find the Knob to be more brilliant than the Donought simply becase the Silver Paint behind the Donought isn't a perfect reflector. Cutting a mirror to put under the glass would make this scream. I left it alone as it was orginally the way you see it. I weighs 1 Lb 11 Oz. You are bidding on 1 Antique Victorian Stamped Brass/Bronze Doorknob Door Knob Escutcheon Plate. It is about 3" wide and 10 3/8" tall. PLEASE NOTICE THERE IS NO KEY HOLE IN THIS ONE AND THERE IS A PLACE FOR A LOCK. It has age appropriate wear and minor paint residue on the front. The back has some minor paint residue and discoloration on it. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
