This auction is for a handsome. Baldwin Brass, Rim Lock, Model 5630.030.L. Designed primarily with for use on interior doors. Lock is a forged brass, horizontal rim latch in Baldwin's regular, lacquered, polished brass, finish. Lock has a passage latch which can be retracted by the knobs from either side of the door. It does not have a locking or privacy feature. This lock is new in the box. Just recently un-packaged for photographs, and has not been installed. Lock is complete and deemed to be in good working order. A solid brass, bit key-for decorative use on the interior case- since there is no locking mechanism, a box of all fasteners, and mounting template are included. This lock is a forged brass, horizontal cylinder rim lock in Baldwin's regular, lacquered, polished brass, finish. The lock is complete and in good working order and will ship on it's oak display board. Lock has a passage latch which can be retracted by the knobs from either side of the door; and it has a dead bolt which can be operated from the outside by cylinder key(included) or from the inside by slide bolt or bit key(included) As configured, this lock is designed for a 1-3/4" thick door. Large Antique Rim Box Lock Iron Tagged With Nos 60 Improved Rim Lock Brass Knob
Antique Rim Lock Circa Mid 1800's This antique rim lock is made from wrought sheet iron. It features 1 door handle with brass knob. That was painted over with silver paint. This paint would be easy to remove if desired. The other door handle and knob are missing as is the key, and the keeper. The body of the lock features a metal tag which appears to be brass that's painted black. This tag features an American Eagle with the wording- Improved Lock. No. 60. The knob turns smoothly with a little squeak. Spring seems tight but needs a little lubrication. Overall its in good condition. With the usual wear to the paint, light rust, crackled paint. It measures approx. 6 inches long by 4 and 1/4 inches high by 7/8 inches deep. The end plate is 1 and 5/8 deep.

Lock box has a screw on rear for servicing and slide engages and disengages locking mechanism in box. Drive rod engages and disengages latch slide. Spring feels ok for latch. Comes with all original parts except a few of the screws are not original. The 7 longest. That I included, for the box installation and catch plate. The brass set screws for the knob and handle appear to be original as well as the screws for the door knob backplate. 12 matching antique glass knobs Brass shank(gold coloured) 6 brass back plates(brass coloured) Knobs measure 5.5cm x 6.5cm Lightly cleaned Six pairs of original Victorian brass and glass door knobs with original brass back plate(1 per pair) Spindle and grub screw. Up for auction is a pristeen. New-in-the box, Baldwin Brass, model 5704.030.R, Forged Brass, Horizontal Cylinder Lock, in regular, lacquered, polished brass. This lock is designed primarily for use on entrance doors. A solid brass, bit key, for the inside of the door, is included. There are two keys provided for the locking, exterior cylinder. The latch bolt can be operated by the knob from either side; and the dead bolt can be operated by the bit key or the slide bolt from the inside or by the cylinder key from the outside. This rim lock is specifically intended for a right hand door and is not reversible. See illustration of handing along with the specifications of the lock in the attached images. This lot comes to you with a pair of solid brass handles for a two door application and a pair of solid brass doorknobs. Large 3/8 inch drive rod and three of the 4 original mounting bolts and nuts. Interior looks intact of the lock box. Might have come from an old ships galley or captains quarter. Regardless of its original intent. It is high quality door hardware. Vintage Wiliiamsburg Brass Rim Door Lock & Skeleton Key Folger Adam Co
Up for auction I have a really neat vintage Williamsburg Brass Rim Door Lock by Folger Adam Co. It comes with two skeleton keys. The bright and shiny one works amazingly well and even though the other one matches and I found it with the lock. It does not work as well. Key slides in and lock works nicely. Has a marking seal on the side that is slightly worn. I found one like it so I could guesstimate what it was. This most likely is for a large door. The back paper info is old and worn. How old this piece is I'm not sure. It does have rust and age wear and discoloration to it. Its very cool though. It does also need a decent cleaning. Item is very heavy weighing over 3 pounds. JULY 14 1891 In good used condition this set shows some heavier bettinna here and there. Cast brass knobs. Escutcheon, and latch(the alloys of the interior of latch mechanism are unknown) This set has not been cleaned and the rim lock mechanism has not been opened. Each piece is solid with no cracks, repairs or extra holes. The rim lock striker moves freely, the handle spindle fits easily through the lock and operates the striker properly. The lock latch moves freely and operates the locking mechanism properly. The handle screws set easily into all four of the mounting holes on the spindle. One of the mounting screws has damage. Up for auction is a pristine. New-in-the box, Baldwin Brass Rim Lock, Model 5704.030.L, Forged Brass Horizontal Cylinder Lock, in regular, lacquered, polished brass. Designed primarily for use on entrance doors, the lock is new and has never been installed. A solid brass bit key for the inside of the door, is included.The latch can be operated by the knob from either side and the deadbolt can be operated by the bit key or the slide bolt from the inside or by the cylinder key from the outside. This rim lock is specifically intended for a left hand door and is not reversible. See illustration of handing along with the specifications for the lock-detailing what's in the box- in the attached images. All factory-supplied screws/fastners/spindle are in the small white box. Case measures 3.75" x 4.75" x.875" Keeper measures 3.75" ... morex.875" x 1.625" backset is 2.50" front to knob hub Note: this lock is not intended to be installed on doors with pre-bored. 2-1/8" diameter holes. Full Disclosure: This lock is new in the box; though it is from older inventory. It was only recently opened/unpackaged for the photographs in this listing. All parts/components appear free from blemishes and to be in good working order. Lock can be used on doors of different thicknesses- tailpiece of cylinder can be trimmed in the field allowing the lock to be used on doors from 1-3/8 to 2-1/4" thick. On doors thicker than 1.75" a longer spindle may be needed and can be purchased through a Baldwin dealer. The current price for a new lock of this design is $900. Rim locks of this style would have graced the doors of fine colonial homes in Williamsburg. Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, Charleston, and Savannah.
