Ornate Signed M&W Fancy Floral Matthews& Willard Onyx Marble Top Brass Fern Plant Lamp Table Stand UP FOR AUCTION: An ornate M&W onyx top lamp stand. Stand is constructed of curved brass legs with ball feet. And fancy cast floral and scroll pattern magnetic(iron) matching top and bottom shelf. The top section has a cut out for the onyx or marble top piece. The top stone has the original Onyx paper label indicating manufacture by"The Matthews and Willard Mfg. Co" M&W produced a general line of brassware and, lamps, and furniture from Waterbury CT from 1890- 1902. Smaller table. Measures about 28" tall to the top. 15" across the feet, 7" across the bottom shelf, and 12" across the top shelf. The onyx insert measures 8" square and 3/4" deep. Could be a plant stand, occasional table, or ... morelamp table. Compare size with the M&W parlor lamp(Not Included! in the last photo. Certainly the epitome of Victorian opulence! Lamp stand is in excellent condition. No breaks or repairs or damage to the metal. The onyx also great with no chips or cracks. Has some scratching on the top side. The finish appears untouched for many years, good deep age patina and dust as found from the estate. Quite likely the cast iron has brass plating under all the dirt and dust. Stand is listed for local pick-up. If I can figure out how to mail something that large. Or can disassemble the stand for safe shipping, I'll consider that option also. Mahogany Candle Lamp Fern Stand Carved Horse Heads This is a beautiful mahogany three leg stand with carved stylized horse heads on the legs. Originally i thought the wood was walnut but upon close inspection of the grain i now believe it is mahogany. The stand is unmarked so it is difficult to determine age but i think this is from the 1900's perhaps a little earlier. This stand has a very folk art feel to it and i believe it was home made. In the top are 3 concentric circles that were turned into the surface though i am not sure why. The stand measures 31 inches tall 15 inches in diameter Condition: The stand is in very good condition with no breaks or cracks. The top looks funny and it looks like it was once repaired but i am not sure it was. I believe it was home made and they probably used whatever wood they had which is why the ... moretop looks repaired. It was probably not professionally jointed. If you look at the top from beneath you can see the texture of the two pieces of wood is different but the top has the concentric grooves which i think is original. A Turn of the Century Wicker Fern Stand A Wicker Fern Stand. Circa 1900-1910, reed, natural surface, 32" tall, the urn is 12" in diameter at the mouth and 8" deep. There are no breaks, no repairs, no issues. In the pedestal style favored during the late Belle Époque, its 2" diameter solid wood post, diagonally wrapped with reed, is strong enough to have supported great-grandmother's Boston Fern( Nephrolepis exaltata) or Mother-in-law's Tongue( Sansevieria trifasciata) Mind you. Both of those plants act to filter impurities from the air, which is probably why great-grandma grew them in the first place- and why you might want to. Alternatively you could grow any number of sun-loving plants if you'd prefer to use the stand in the solarium. Either way. In order to protect the wicker, any plant must be potted ... morein a proper glazed cachepot or in a standard pot(one with a drainage hole) set on a glazed saucer. Another alternative is to have a plate glass disc cut and polished by a glazier for use as a top for the stand, after which it can be used like any pedestal, for a plant, a lamp, a statue, or many other things that you might wish to display. If you remove the bottom round onyx piece you will see an underlying brass design(see third and forth photos) which explains why these are usually lost. Really a graceful design. Offered here is a solid wood vintage carved fern or plant stand. Although I have had this piece for several years and puchased it from an antique store in Agusta. GA, it is NOT and antique. It stands on three ball and claw foot legs with feathers carved on top to 45 inches tall. The circular top is 11" in diameter with carving around the edges. It is in perfect condition. antique OAK CLAW FOOT PLANT STAND w/ Fluted Column Fern Pedestal Victorian
Offered without reserve is an old oak plant stand/ fern pedestal from an estate. This stand would date back into the Victorian era circa 1900. It has a fantastic looking turned fluted column and 4 carved claw or paw feet on the bottom. The finish is old and original, it has some age crazing normally seen on an antique piece from this era but it looks very good overall. There are various small dings, light scratches and a small chip in the column shown in the 4th close up photo, the top has some stains but it is what you would expect a piece that is over 100 years old to look like, it is an old original antique. The top measures approx. 13" across by 2 3/4" thick, it is 30 1/4" tall, it is approx. 10" from claw foot to claw foot, the fluted column is approx. 3 3/4" at the widest point. It is solid walnut and has very unusual dog’s heads on the legs with their tongues hanging out a great distance. It measures 15 1/2" in diameter and it is 32" tall. 1880 Carved Wooden African Man Fern Stand Signed& Dated: Wm Rogers 1880 There looks to be some green paint residue in the carved lines of the signature. Pictures cannot begin to show the beauty of this piece! The figure stands an impressive 5' 5 1/2" Seeing this piece in person is liking standing next to another living humane. Such realism! I would guess that the wood is mahogany. Soft finish lets the beauty of the wood show in great detail. The entire figure, stand& plant holder is carved with wonderful detailing. Face. Hair, eyes even down to the life lines in his hand! Carving is of a young African male wearing a Lions hide. His left arm is in the upright position holding a disc on which an fern could be placed. These figures are sometime called Blackamor's but this piece does not have the familiar turban that Blackamor's ... moreare normally wearing, so not sure what the proper title of this guy would be. There are a few nicks to the carving in various places. I have tried to picture these so that anyone can see that none are huge or in anyway take away from the piece as a whole. The top disc/plant holder does have a few cracks in the wood& a piece has been glued back in place, as well as one by his hand, this all looks to be from the drying of the wood. Measurement at the chest around the figure including his right arm is approx. 33" The muscle on his left arm measures approx. 9 1/2" in circumference. the base is carved w/shells. Rosettes& scrolling. Inside spread of the feet at the front is 13" apart, 17" when measured on the outsides. The top plant disc is approx, 8" in diameter. I can imagine this carved figure setting in a grand entrance hall of a southern mansion! Beautiful. Regal& so ready for a huge Boston Fern to be placed back in it's proper place!

It has been in our home for around 10 years. I bought it at an auction with the intent of selling it right away. But my wife took possesion of it from me. Now, 10 years later, she put a mahogany drying rack in it's place and told me I could list it now. When you look at it, it appears to be oak. The color is a dark honey oak, but it is indeed mahogany. It has a shelf near the base which held a ironstone biscuit jar for 10 years. It's very well made and it is in very good overall condition. It would add intrest& charm to any room, foyer or hall in your home. I would guess it was made in the early 30's. It has very unusual steel feet that I've never seen before. It is 15 inches square by 28 1/2 inches high. It is solid oak and completely restored. If you're looking for beautiful oak table to put an old fashioned kerosene lamp on or a beautiful fern stand this one would be perfect. It will be unassembled when I ship it(see pictures) It only requires eight standard screws to assemble it. I disassemble it to ship it for both cost and safety reasons. Victorian Fretwork Stair Candle Holder/Fern Stand
Rare and hard to find is this fantastic piece of oak Victorian fretwork. Candle holder/ fern stand. Could have been mounted at the end of the stairs with a candle or in the doorway between two rooms as a fern stand, either way, totally hard to find, and is in fantastic condition. Stands about 79 1/2 inches tall,I think at one time it was connected to apiece of ceiling fretwork, which still can be. The widest point at the candle holder is 16 inches wide, down below the holder it measures 13 1/2 the floor base is 14 inches wide the plate is about 7 inches round and last is the wood that holds it to the wall is a little over 1 1/4 wide. the fretwork stops at 52 inches up from the floor. This auction is for a classic Arts& Craft Era Two(2) Tiered Oak Plant or Fern Stand From Scotland. This pretty stand has a unique pretty arched type cut Solid Oak aprons under the doulbe beveled edge oak table top with pretty solid oak tapered legs. The shelf also has a uniquely cut border around all four sides. It's structurely sound and has very nice eye appeal. It has a Dark Oak Patina to it with a hint of Red Oak. The top is 11" X 10 1/2" and it's 36" tall overall. It has a 11 1/2" X 11 1/2" footprint on the floor. The shelf is 8 1/4" X 8 1/2" The shelf is 12 1/4" off the floor. It's overall condition is good without any rot or worm damage to the oak. The finish is good but not mint or excellent by any means. It has scratches.
