This majestic 19th century piece is positively stunning and features an ornately carved crest. Raised panels of burl walnut, carved rosettes, incised carvings, the original mirrors and the original recessed beveled edge marble top, with shaped walnut display shelves flanking the center mirror. Truly a grand statement piece you would be proud to showcase in your home. This fabulous étagère measures 105 1/2 inches( 8' 9 1/2" in total height. Height to the marble at the base is 29 3/4 inches, with a total width of 54 inches and total depth at the base of 19 inches and this étagère weighs approximately 250 lbs total but does dis-assemble into 3 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The original mirror at the center measures 46 3/4 inches in height by 22 1/2 inches wide. This Victorian étagère is in fantastic antique condition. The original mirrors do show some mild spidering silver loss as common with old mirrors. And the original white beveled edge recessed marble top has no chips or cracks but does have some mild discoloration as age appropriate. There is also a small age shrinkage area to the wood by the bottom mirror on the right side see picture of close-up, and a piece of burl veneer missing on the left side towards the back; see close up picture. Neither of these affects the integrity or beauty this elegant piece offers. The locks are intact on the drawer and the cabinet below but the key provided just aids in opening the drawer and the cabinet. It could be used for a myriad of things. It is carved from Fruitwood and has three shelves. Each shelf is beautifully decorated in a pyrography technique and painted in vibrant colors. The top shelf is decorated with a house and a windmill under a large tree and vibrant greenery surrounding the house. There are several sprigs with flowers and leaves- also in different hues of green and floral colors. There is a butterfly in the corner in vibrant colors and two bars swallows in flight approaching the cottage. The second shelf. This etagere is old. As can be seen from the back. The wood appears to be a mixture of pine, poplar, and possibly mahogany, but it was refinished about 30 years ago to a uniform color, with a walnut stain. It also has some cast metal filigree corners. The original mirrors have been replaced. It has what appears to be Eastlake style ornamentation. Overall. The piece is 73-1/4" tall. The base is 36" tall x 40-1/4" wide x 15-1/4" deep. The removable upper section is 37-1/4" tall x 38-1/4" wide x 10-5/8" deep. This etagere has been well cared for and is from a smoke-free home. Original Victorian ~ ONYX& BRONZE ETAGERE DISPLAY STAND WITH ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL ONYX SHELF INSERTS AND FINIALS ~ This amazing Victorian etagere was acquired out of wonderful Midwest Victorian estate. It is by far the nicest example that we have ever had the opportunity to offer for auction. The display stand measures 68 inches tall by 40 inches wide by 14 inches deep. The over all condition is quite nice with the exception of one missing mirror" easy replacement" The patina is 100% all original and we left it in untouched& uncleaned condition, just as it was when discovered in the estate. All seven of the original onyx shelves and fancy finials are in nice condition, with only expected natural inclusions. We have seen several of the smaller plant stands that were similar ... morein design, but never anything this exceptional. This ornate etagere would have been quite expensive to purchase, when it was new over some 100 or so years ago. I would imagine that very few could afford such a fine luxury as this, and not many were ever made. It does have numbers and some markings on the back. We are fairly certain that it was made out East, possibly New York, and around the 1880's- 1890's era. It is certainly well over a 100 years old! The casting in as nice as you will see, and they can not even come close in the newer reproductions they attempt to make. This is a solid black walnut Victorian Civil War-era five-shelf etagere or whatnot shelf dating from the 1860s or‘80s. I’m always amazed ... moreat how well some of these pieces stand up after all this time. Like this one has. It has five routered multi-edge cutout shapely shelves, all retaining their original dainty backsplashes, and wonderful shelf supports, cabriole legs, and finial tops. The finish is a medium amber color, and the only flaw I can see is a few water stain rings that have developed over the years. At the widest point, it is 40 inches wide on the two bottom shelves, and 15 inches deep. The third shelf from the bottom is 34 inches at the widest point, and 12 inches deep. The fourth shelf up is 28 inches wide, and 10 inches deep, and the top shelf is 24 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. The overall height is 67 inches to the top of the backsplash on the top shelf. There is a small crack on the right hand side of the backsplash where it was broken off at one point and someone had to repair it, but it doesn’t affect the structure. This is a beautiful antique French etagere. It has been in my collection for 15 years. I think the wood is walnut but I am not sure. It is a great piece for your kitchen or dining room. This is a truly fabulous and incredibly ornate ebonized etagere from the 1800's. Circa 1890. It has numerous original beveled glass mirrors, loads of niches for your special treasures and a surprisingly abundant amount of storage space: two spacious storage cabinets with extra shelf(one on each end) a very spacious bowfront center cabinet with extra shelf, and a full length shelf along the bottom of the unit. There are two dovetail drawers with lovely ornate handles. Four beveled mirrors, lovely graceful French legs, and did I mention that it is incredibly ornate! Everywhere you look, there are beautiful carvings, filigrees, etc! Since it is dark brown to black, the pictures cannot possibly do it justice. A Victorian What Not Shelf unit. We are pleased to present this antique Victorian What Not Shelf unit for your consideration. Made of wood(believed to be Walnut) The unit features a variety of ornate touches including turned wood uprights and finials, and decorative shelf back trim. The unit measures 54 inches high. 30 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep, and weighs 14 pounds 9 ounces. We did not find any marks on the piece that identified the manufacturer. Not unusual on pieces of this age. The upright pieces have loosened over time and need to be tightened to prevent the unit from being wobbly. The uprights are threaded and screw into each shelf(see last picture which shows the threaded section on an upright) Wear is typical, with a variety of minor wear that has accumulated over the years. We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique étagère. This piece is made from walnut and dates to the late 1800's. The piece was reconditioned and is quite stunning. The upper gallery boasts fan carved backsplashes flanking a mirrored center back with columned front. There is a second gallery shelf with two side mirrors and a center mirror fronted by a rail. Below the galleries is a single door with elaborate carved design. This door is flanked on both sides by additional shelves. These shelves also have columns. The lower front parts of the legs have an applied medallion design and there are cutouts below the door. There are various areas on this piece with carved designs. Lovely. Small three-tier what-not from my mother's estate. Unlike so many, this one is fairly small and narrow, and simply embellished, perfect for an entry hall or corner. All the shelves have beveled edges attached to nicely turned posts. It measures 32" tall to the top of the finials and is 20 1/4" at its widest point and 13 7/8" at its deepest point. It's 29" tall from the floor to the top shelf, then 10" between the first and second shelves and 14 7/8" between the second and bottom shelves. Antique Victorian 1890's Eastlake Etagere Ebony Wood
Late 1800's Victorian Eastlake Etagere Ebony Wood. It has dings and little scrapes throughout due to it's over 100 years plus age. There is some slight pulling apart at a couple of corners which I have left alone. I like it in the original condition. I have also left the crack in the old glass on the door(you could change it if you like) The door is held in place by 2 pins, 1 is missing. The cabinet is 65" tall by 42" wide and 14" depth. Condition I think is quite good due to it's age.
