The cup is decorated on the exterior upper half with panels of vertically applied more or less straight lines in dark-brown color slip alternated by open panels containing a single vertical row of short horizontal lines. The lower half of the cup has broad horizontal bands and lines for decoration. The interior is entirely covered with dark brown slip. Dimensions: height 8.2 cm; width 15.4 cm including handles. BC painted pottery 2 handle skyphos cup. It has vertical painted rays at the base and a wide dark brown ring flanked by thinner reddish rings on the body. It measures 2 3/4" tall x 4" in diameter not including handles. It is in fair condition with a glue repair to a broken piece near the base. The area below the rim decorated on one side with a band of ivy; the other side with wave pattern. Condition: Complete and intact apart from a few very minor chips; light encrustations inside and out.
