The lid is huge and beutifully decorated. The hinge works perfectly and the sterling lid is secure to the bottle. The inside of the lid still retains it's nice gold wash. There is a dent to the lid as you will see in the photos. The bottle is free of chips. Cracks& repairs. However, whatever liquid used to be stored in this bottle has left a residue to the top 1/4 of the bottle. It has also left the rest of the bottle with an slightly iridescent cast to it. Very strange but you will see what I mean in the photos. This is one of those bottles you almost pass up but then just due to it's size and lovely details in the lid and cut glass you decide it's worth the trouble. I have not attempted to remove the"residue" so perhaps some of it will come off ~ I do not know. I have broken too many a bottle while trying to scrub them up. So now just a light dusting and if they are presentable- I leave the major cleaning to you. The bottle is heavy and I imagine just the silver lid alone would be worth a bit of money. The lid is 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest. Shoot. Just the lid is as big as some sterling silver bottles alone! The total height of the bottle(lid& glass) is 6 1/4 inches tall and the width across the widest part is 3 1/2 inches. Just so you know what a conversation piece it is.when my daughter asked what used to be in the bottle I told her it was probably"the potion of some Mad Victorian Era Scientist.maybe Frankenstien himself" I couldn't resist having a little fun at her expense. A pair of perfume glass bottles. Each cylindrical form. With handmade sterling silver overlay and sterling silver lid. Not monogrammed. Both have minor dent and ding to their lid and base, please see photos. Each bottle hallmarked to underside: Hecho En Mexico" for country of origin, 925" for sterling silver and initial"AM" for maker. One of them marked with"Eagle 189" for tax. Made sometime in 1950's. Pictures will tell you more. Each Approx. Height: 2-5/8in. 65mm. Diameter: 1in. 25mm. 2ps. Total Weight: 2.46 oz. 69.5 gr. Dark spots you are seeing on the photos, are reflections of a camera and other objects. Commensurate with age. The condition is good.

Each Marked STERLING 54 Unknown Maker You are buying two beautiful. Old Heavy Crystal/Glass Bottles(Perfume Bottles) with Stoppers. All time best shape and form. Each has unique tooled. Sterling overlay. The Design on each includes a flower Iris or Daffodil? and a Solid Silver plate with ornamental“vines” Beautiful! Both need to be polished and interiors cleaned as they have Cloudiness. Moisture residue, build up inside. I did not want to risk doing any damage to these pieces so I left them As-Is. These were my Mom’s from her Sterling Collection. She has had them wrapped and stored for many years. There ... moreare no chips or cracks on the Bottles. The Silver Overlay on one is complete and Beautiful. The other one has a part of a flower missing(Picture with the frosty looking outline shows the missing silver) It was hard to get great pictures without glare and reflections and shadows. These are not marks on the Silver or bottle. But like I mentioned. Silver needs to be polished, so there are tarnished marks, Patina? The Top rims are also slightly different. One has a little wider cover lip. The Stoppers are complete. One has a“fracture” Bottom of stem, but it seems to be internal. Both have chipping/fleabites along stem bottoms. The One Stopper with the“fracture” was hand-blown and is hollow. The other Stopper is Solid. Each are similar size but have a little different shape. These two really complement each other. But they are not identical. Would be a lovely Cruet Set for Oil and Vinegar. They are both so lovely just Sitting on Display. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. The silver repousse cover is marked with three hallmarks. First is the.925 Rampant Lion, followed by the Crowned Leopard of London, and the last is the 1894 date letter, T. Below these hallmarks is a maker’s mark that looks like“CP” but I was unable to identify this maker. This 19thC Scent Bottle is in perfect original condition with no repairs. The second 19thC Scent Bottle in this auction measures only 2 5/8“ long and has a loop which would allow it to be attached to a lady’s Chatelaine. Description: Set of 3 French sterling silver and cut glass perfume or cologne bottles. With oval shaped cylindrical glass bodies. The trio feature exquisite wheel cut paneling and a deep 16-point wheel cut star-burst to the base. Mounted with sterling silver threaded collar and screw on lids that reveal a cut glass stopper beneath. The lids are beautifully decorated with an all over guilloche engraved pattern centered on top by a blank cartouche. The lids on these bottles are of thick silver, not thin as is often the case with these old vanity bottles. Rather they are quite sturdy and perfect for use as cologne bottles in addition to storing lady's perfume. Beautiful miniature black glass perfume or scent bottles encased in silver filigree. The heart shaped one measures 1 5/8 inches tall and is 1 1/8 inches wide. The round one measures 1 1/2 inches tall and is 1 1/8 inches wide. The filigree is wrapped around the glass bottles. I can find no marks on either the bottles or the tops. The small bottle is marked with acid etched"Czechoslovakia" on the bottom as shown in the last photo. They are hand cut in vertical and horizontal miters. Swags, diamond relief, stars, fluted necks and polished bases. Both have the original lapidary cut stoppers. The tall bottle measures 6 3/4" high including the stopper and 2 3/4" diameter across the base. The smaller bottle measures 4 3/4" high including the stopper and 2" diameter across the base. These are heavy lead crystal and weigh a combined 1 lb. 8 oz. before packing. This is a Rare 1800's Pair of matching Gustave Keller Perfume Bottles. They are both 950 Sterling and Etched Crystal with inside cut Crystal Bottle Stoppers. The Sterling outer Lids fit down over the Sterling Collar top and have a graceful Scallop shape on top of the Lid with a Monogram of M or W in Victorian script. One Bottle is 6" in height and 3" in diameter. The other Bottle is 5" in height and 2 1/2" in diameter. They both have beautiful floral etching around the top and column patterns near the bottom of the Bottles. These are extremely heavy and thick Crystal Bottles. Exceptionally well made. This ia a Vintage Pair of Perfume/Cologne Bottles made in Western Germany. These were bought out of an Estate. They are from what I was told. Around 60 to 70 years old. They are in Excellent condition. All the Gilt work is hand done of Leaves& vines, with gold accenting the base2 gold bands around the center of the neck and around the top opening of the bottle. The stoppers are not chipped at all and are also embellished in Gold. The bottles are white satin glass and the stoppers are slightly frosted clear glass. They stand 7 3/4" tall and are 3 1/2" in diameter at their widest point. One bottle has part of a Western Germany sticker and the other has the full sticker. No Chips, Bites or repairs. Each bottle is triangular shaped and fits perfectly into its own section in the black leather case. The glass bottles are cranberry, green, clear and yellow. Each has a facetted stopper, but I think that one of stoppers may be a replacement. The leather strap on the back of the case is, unfortunately, broken but could easily be repaired with some leather glue. So I do think it is silver as nothing else cleans up like that unless it is silver. The beautiful glass bottle has something incised on the bottom but it is too hard to read. There is no aroma coming from the bottle. So it may have just been displayed. Truly beaut iful piece! hi. this is a rare antique Victorian miniature perfume etui vitrine. heavy beveled lass on top and the front and wonderful blue and gold velvet on the box with brass rings on each side and a brass doorknob to open the door. They are unsigned so I am uncertain of exact age or the maker but they most resemble some Irice& Holmspray bottles I have seen. They are both very clean inside and out but a little more attention never hurst. The bulbs on each of them can still be squeezed. They are not hard, although I am not sure the seals are good enough to actually spray. I have only used them for display. The black bulb netting has a small hole in it but you could completely remove the black netting to expose the black rubber bulb if you wanted to and it would show better. I will leave that up to you. Rare Pair Antique Cut Glass & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottles - Cranberry - 1896
So rare to come across a pair of matching perfume bottles. This elegant pair are probably the most sought-after colour, Cranberry graduating down to a clearer glass at the base. The screw-top lids are made from English sterling silver, hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, making these true Victorian examples. The makers mark is also present CM for the silversmith, Charles Mappin. The top of the lid has a vacant circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize it. Excellent condition, measuring 6 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" max. Rare Victorian Perfume Box w/Original Cut Glass Perfume Bottles
Up for bid is a rare piece of true Victoriana. It's a highly decorative fabric. Domed box with 2 matched cut glass perfume bottles with stoppers; I have no reason to think they're anything other than the original bottles due to their perfect fit in the box wells. Starting with the box. it's red in color, yes, faded and dirty in spots with age on the outside but with a richer color on the inside. And the fabric is showing signs of wear in spots but is intact and is not ripped nor torn.You can easily see its domed shape; it sits on 4 brass ball feet, has a decorative brass handle set on 2 fleur-de-lis mounted on the top of the box. On the front of the box is what looks to be a brass beetle and a fly- perhaps dragonfly( which is typical of the Victorian era. Toward the bottom of the box are brass fitting that include a 2-part latch. ... moreOn both outer rims on each side of the box- and running over the top of the domeand all the way down the back are ornately done strips of brass decoration. And on the dome part of the box on the back(just underneath the handle) sits another beetle bug. The box lid is attached to the base of the box- BUT JUST BARELY. It is literally attached by threads and has to be"placed" on the box for its natural fit. It fits snugly and securely as it should and latches as it should as well. This should be expected due its age. The only things to mention regarding the brass elements are a missing wing to the dragonfly and I think there's a missing leg to the back beetle(I noticed neither of these on my purchase; that's how small and unnoticeable the issues) These in no way detractand are really only noticeable when looking for them. Closed. The box stands just over 5" tall, is 5 and 3/4" wide, and 3 and 1/4" deep. Now the bottles. first. They are a matched pair, stoppers and all. Vintage Edwardian gold gilt cherub 2 perfume bottles and clock. The clock is electric and works. Except the alarm set does not. 2 beautiful perfume cherub bottles with a light lavender bevel glass. Each perfume bottle measures 9 1/2" tall, 6 3/4" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. Clock measures 9" tall, 6" wide, and 4" deep. These antiques are extremely heavy and of a fine quality. Excellent vintage condition vanity set.
