Up for sale we have a lovely Antique Hendryx Bird Cage with its original stand. One of the most eye catching details are the lovely Flow Blue feeding dishes in the holders on the cage itself. The cage and stand are in very good condition with no breaks or cracks that we have found. Just normal Antique wear which has left this cage and stand with a great looking patina. The stand and cage stands 65" tall by 14 1/2" in dia. for the cage. The stand is weighed and holds the cage with ease. There is a brass tag on the side of the cage with the Hendryx logo and information on the tag. We got this piece from a local Michigan estate. The cage can still be used for bird housing. Vintage Antique Chinese Asian Bamboo Bird Cage w/ Porcelain Water Dishes 17"
Hello and welcome to my auction. Today for your interest is this fabulous vintage bird cage! This has an Asian/ Chinese flair; please see pics to appreciate! Has 4 porcelain water/ food cups inside and exterior what look to be hand carved details including dragon heads around bottom and 2 other carvings at sides. Also has a wooden stick perch inside. This also comes with an O perch as seen in pictures. The cage is in overall nice shape for its age but does have some condition issues which include: 1 of the wood loops at top is broken and will need to be glued- At door one of the wooden spindles is broken near top- Also above in this area is a broken spindle on curved area- At top'flower' wooden detail is missing a quarter- 1 of the side pieces slit on the O ring is broken but this still fits securely in cage- Cage has 2 clips to hold ... moresecure; I think there should be 3 therefore 1 missing clip The cage is also dusty/ dirty and would benefit from a cleaning. Bottom of cage also has a handle; please see last pic. Cage has 3 ball feet which hold it nicely should you want to sit it rather than hang. Including hook the cage measures approximately 17" tall. Hi up for sale is this lot of 3 antique ironstone soap dishes. The one on the left is 4" x 3 3/8" Has a big chip on the bottom. Has some other very small chips and flea bites. bottom is marked Thomas Furnival& Son with a big logo of a lion and unicorn. The dish in the middle is 4 1/2" x 3 3/4" has some gold accent. Has some chipping and crazing, marked TNT with a griffin on the bottom. THe one on the right is 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" has gold trim and flowers. Gorgeous Set Nine Antique Satsuma Porcelain Small Dishes 3 & 3/8 in.
We love the detail on these beautiful small antique porcelain dishes. This listing is for nine matched. Each is 3 and 3/8 inches wide and 3/4 inch high. Each is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Tho one has a tiny spot on each of goldleaf missing and a tiny hairline crack very hard to see on the back. We consider these to be Satsuma, judging from the moriage and subject matter. Photos are good but don't show the amount of goldleaf they have. Each has a lot of goldleaf- it is not showing up in the photos, probably because of how reflective the goldleaf is when it is photographed. Where you see grey in the photo encircling the woman and two men and a cross in a circle above, it is really goldleaf in great condition! Colors are wonderful in browns. Deep red, yellow, green, and blue. Type of dish: we do not know. But are similar ... morein shape and size to individual nut dishes or butter pats. Henry Birks& Sons of Montreal, Quebec, Canada in about 1903. They are in a beautiful circular design with gadrooned rims. Each measures 3 1/4" in diameter and stands 1/2" high. They are rather substantial- each weighs 29.9 grams which is a total of almost 2 troy oz. They are in very good condition for their age with just the usual surface scratching but few dings and dents. Almost NO distortion- SUPERB- but they do need a better clean than I have had time to give them. They are NOT engraved. I am pleased to offer a beautiful set of six antique salts. Salt dishes made by O& E.G. Royal Austria. These salts are absolutely stunning with the interior finish being a pearlized iridescent and a white outside with gold around the scalloped rim of the salts. Based upon the marking on the back of these salts. They were made between 1898 and 1918. The marking on the back of the salts was used by Oscar& Edgar futherz of Altrolau, Bohemia(now Czech Republic) from 1898 to 1918. The company made some of the finest porcelain and exported both decorated& undecorated pieces. Antique hand cut and pressed glass, candy or nut dishes. These came from Europe with one of my relatives in the 1920's. The glass is very heavy and each dish has the same pattern and size; 9" in length. 3 3/4" in width and 1 1/2" in height. The handles on each are hand cut on the outer curves. The rims of each dish also appear to be cut. The sides and bottom may be pressed as they are tiny hobnails with flowers impressed into each bump. The dishes have no cracks or structural damage but there are tiny nicks around the edges and some of the flowers on the sides have sharp edges. The pattern of pleats and folds with a center flower is deeply impressed on the reverse side. No chips or cracks although there are one or two sharp edges from the mold. Early 1900s copper pieces- I'm not sure whether to call them dishes or bowls- they have more depth than a dish, but make for a very shallow bowl. It's a matching pair, with an original patina that is killer. Each on measures 3 7/8" diameter with an inside well that is 3" diameter. The lighter of the two, patina wise, is just a smidge taller than the other(maybe 1/16" They are hand hammered and they are beautiful. Both are covered with green oxidation on the top, and have spots of it on the bottoms, too. Excellent condition- normally, I would say that they need a good cleaning, but I wouldn't mess with these at all! Please ask if you have any questions. 5 Antique Old Butter Pat Dishes Plates White Double Blue Ring Blue Bird Lot #2
Unknown Maker The closest bird I could find out of the hundreds I looked at over the internet was Knowles. Taylor, Knowles. It is not the same but pretty close match. So should blend in with one of their blue bird sets or several other makers sets. They would make nice display peices also. The dish itself has 12 edges and is not round but has 2 round blue painted rings. There were several dish shapes that were similar but I could not narrow this dish down to one of them. I am not sure of the age but I belive these to be old. Blue birds were very popular between the 1880's and late 1920's. I have no idea if these date from then. But the previous owner said she had had them from at least the 70's when she was in the height of her collecting/hoarding. One has a surface crack on the top and does not go through to the bottom of the dish only on top surface, another dish is discolored and is missing parts of the inner blue ring, has faded outer ring and a chip on the rim that I can't tell for 100% but may be glazed over. Please see the photos. But bird decals are mostly intact, but do show crazing(along with the dishes itself) These would also make a nice individual open salt dish. These are not perfect or unused but will blend in with a loved and used set or nicely for display. I have described these the best I can. But I may have missed something. Please look at the pictures. Lovely estate kidney-sha ped bone dish or cheese servers with matching se rving knives are decorated in vibrant cobalt blue. The human figures are clear and detailed. The background features a house. A bridge over a river leading to a pagoda. As well as trees, flowers and hanging vines. Each scalloped dish is bordered with gold accent. The handles of the knives feature the same figures which appear on the dishes. The blades read"stainless" and"Japan" On the back of the dishes are partial paper lab els which say"JAPAN" The dishes measure 5" X 2 3/4" The total length of the knives is 4 3/4" the porcelain handle s are 2 1/4" and the stainless blades. 2 1/ 2" These are very old and there is some crazing commensurate with age. Post-1886 German Silver Dishes(Bowls) Wilhelm Binder Schwäbisch Gmünd O ffered for auction: Two very elegant silver(marked 835) nut or candy footed dishes or bowls from Germany. Which I believe were made by Wilhelm Binder of Schwäbisch Gmünd(founded in 1869) These are a pair of many pieces of silver brought to the US by the mother of my client. Who immigrated from Germany in the 1920s. As I've tried to show in the photos. They have a very light and airy lattice or filigree design around the rim, with widely ribbed sides forming a scalloped rim. This graceful pair measures 3.75 inches wide across the beaded rim and 2-7/8 inches high. Each piece has a condition issue. The left dish(in the photo above) has partially separated where the bowl joins the pedestal foot(see closeup photos) The right piece has a small tear at ... morethe rim. Very heavy quality and both in great condition with just light surface scratches which I’m sure will polish out.
