This is a pair of amethyst optic ribbed glass vases with enamel and gilt scroll and floral design. The gilt design is very worn. The enamel design is only slightly worn. The vases are slightly different sizes. One is 13 7/8" H x 4 1/8" W at the rim x 4 1/2" W at the base. The other vase is 13 3/4" H x 3 7/8" W at the rim x 4 1/2" W at the base. Albion Antiek Antique Bell Jar Lantern 19th. Century Purple Glass Lamp- Rare Color This listing is for a beautiful original antique early 19th century glass bell jar lantern lamp. This lantern comes with its smoke shield and is a beautiful very dark purple amethyst color(the lid is lighter in color but I do believe it is the original smoke shield for this lantern) It retains its original brass fittings and chain. The shield measures 10-3/8" across and the bell jar measures 9-5/8" high and 8-1/2" across. Condition is good. There are manufacturing flaws and irregularities in the glass(air bubbles and lines and folds in the glass on the lid. These are not cracks or damages but happened in the making) The glass has a few air bubbles that were broken through on the surface but there are no chips or cracks and no repairs. There is ... morejust the usual chipping along the opening hole in the lid where the chain comes through(that is normal for this type of lamp) One of the peacock heads has lost its little clip that folds over the bell jar edge(see pictures) but that does not compromise the stability or ability to safely hang this lamp. They were used on an Orleans style home that was built in Texas. They are hand blown amethyst glass into metal frames. As you can see they were out in the weather and they wire/wrought iron frames have rusted but they are still intact. I have not cleaned them but I did wash some of the dust off of one so you can see the color of the glass. There are some tiny flecks of white paint on the glass you will need to remove as well but that is easily done with paint remover. You will never find ... morea pair of fixtures like these again! I feel they will clean up nicely and one could re-paint the wire to preserve it from further rust. They come in two peices that you would screw together. Antique Amethyst Cut Glass Table Lamp
This bright Amethyst colored glass lamp was originally just candle burning when we purchased it many years ago. We had it professionally wired. Without any drilling or altering of the glass, the wire runs down the outside back. Condition is in as near perfect as can be. The brass base was also added when we wired it as a lamp. There were never any chips or cracks that had to be ground out, it is as it was originally made. The glass candlestick is 14 1/2" tall, and 25" to the shade rest, lampshade not included. The socket is for a three way bulb.

Largest oval amethyst glass jewels are 1-9/16" by 1-3/16" The two larger round jewels are 1-1/4" the one smaller is 1" across. There is one amber front and back faceted stone for pendants. But 6 amethyst Nineteenth century flat back glass, polished and cut with and without some gold back coating done for those used for jewelry. Some have had the gold removed to be used for stained glass window jewels or repairs replacements. I had sold some 12 years ago for stained glass windows and just came across some more. One is a faceted back and front in amber glass. They are all excellent antique quality. These cabochons are from an old jewelry making factory stock and one of them is shown in the brass mounting made for it. Now the other thing is, Im not sure what I have- this measures 5-3/4" tall, opening is 4-1/2" wide and about 6-7" wide, approximate. This is 8 sided, with wides of 3" and 1-1/4" on corners. This has a 1" collar with little decorative ribbing, and should have had a bale as there is little tabs with holes for bale. This is medium amethyst in color, and pictures are taken exposed to window for light. This has quite a number of bubbles in the glass, which leads me to believe it is blown, and possible in a dip molding process. There is a pontil mark? I think) on the bottom, tho not real rough. The rim is nicked, all the way around on inside of edge, ... moremost are fleapecked or just nicked, couple that are a flake chip, and all worn smooth. No other chips, cracks or breaks. I do not find any seams, with the exception of on each of the tabs for the bale. Unintentional exposure to sunlight over the years has turned this a light shade of amethyst purple from the original clear. There are quite a few chips. Nicks, gouges and scratches to the top edges and the edges of the feet as shown in the photos. There are no cracks and no repairs have been done. As is typical with glass from this time period there are some imperfections in the glass from the manufacturing process. This particular pattern is referred to as Octagon by collectors due to the 8 sides. This is made from a thick molded or pressed glass with 4 feet and the bottom and sides have a crosshatch or waffle pattern. Round purple amethyst glass vase vintage? antique? mouthblown and heavy
This is a beautiful heavy. Just under 4 lbs. amethyst glass. I wish I knew more about it. The bottom of the vase looks like the glass was poured onto a flat surface, not a pontil mark. The inside of the glass is concave making it look like inverted ribs. There are many air bubbles in the glass. It measures approximately 7 inches on the outside diameter, the top flare is just over 6 inches, the narrowest part of the opening is about 4 1/4 inches and is 7 1/4 inches tall.
