Antique Push Lawn Mower Wood Handle Cast Iron Wheels & Blades. T'IS THE SEASON.
Up for sale is the classic pre-1920 cast-iron push mower with a wooden handle. It still works but is probably a better decorative item than functional one. The defects are as follows: one wheel has a chip of cast-iron missing and generally has a coating of surface rust. And the wooden roller that sits at ground level behind the blades has some dry-rot. This item is too heavy to ship and is for pickup only. This was my grandmother's lawn mower and has been in my house which I purchased from her since the early 1920s.

Large Antique Cast Iron Cherub Statue Planter Urn Sculpture Lawn & Garden
Here is a beautiful old large solid cast iron cherub garden statue. The statue is quite large and measures about 34" high. The base is 12- 13" in diameter, and this is a very heavy solid piece. My guess would be 70 lbs or more, but I have not weighed it. It is a lovely piece, a nude cherub child, draped with cloth, and holding a large urn/ planter. It has some areas of rust, but in general, is in great condition. It looks like there may have been repair on his one hand that is holding the urn, but it is difficult to tell as his knuckles may be bent- I have shown a picture of this area. This is a beatiful lawn or garden or lakefront piece, and would look stunning with a beautiful flower pot placed in the urn. Though always cleaned and"Simonized' In the early 70s was repainted. And from 1977 on, was in- doors in an air conditioned environment. This is truly a fine example of Black Americana history. The only deterioration of this piece is slight surface rust at some of the seams as you can see in the photographs. All of the seams are closed and tight with the only ex- ception being the right hand. As shown. These statues are controversial. And always will be. Though there are many negative connotations associated with this piece. Below is one positive, from legend, that I would like to think to be true. However. Some accounts of the figure's origin cause ... moresome to see the statue as representing a hero of African American history and culture. According to the the figure originated in commemoration of heroic dedication to duty: It is said that the'lawn jockey' actually has its roots in the tale of one Jocko Graves. An African-American youth who served with at the time that he crossed the Delaware to carry out his surprise attack on forces at. Offered is a Vintage Early Mid Century Rieger Lawn Garden Sprinkler. It measures approx. 8 ¼” wide. 7” front to back, and is approx. 4 ½” tall. There is a lot of surface rust on the base and other natural patina consistent with age. And adding a wonderful unique look. Due to its age(probably 60 to 75+ years old) The rubber washers will likely need to be replaced for a water tight seal if you plan to use the sprinkler for watering rather than display. Picture it with a new coat of paint, black or white. It is heavy so shipping is difficult. You may have to arrange a shipper.
