OLD VINTAGE CAST IRON FENCE POST FINIAL ACORN ~ PINEAPPLE SHAPE For your consideration. I am offering this cool, old vintage cast iron fence post finial. This is in the shape of what looks to be an acorn. At first glance I thought it was a pineapple shape, but the bottom looks as if it is the cap on an acorn. It stands approximately 8" tall and the opening on the bottom is approximately 2- 3/8" by 3- 1/8" This is a heavy old piece and most likely should be shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a flat rate box. This looks as if it was painted gray at one time. This has been in my collection for many years but now it is time to downsize. Vintage Carved Solid Wooden Acorn Finial - 2 1/2"
This wooden acorn finial looks older. But I cannot say for certain how old it may be. It stands 2 1/2 inches tall and at its widest it has a 2 inch diameter. The base has a diameter of about 1 3/8 inches and the hole in the base has a diameter of about 1/2 inch. This finial was very dry and I've cleaned it once with build-up remover and lemon oil; however, it's likely that it will dry out again. The finish is uneven and has wear and shallow scratches, which gives it a nice old patina. However, I believe that it could also be refinished. Posted with

Antique Cast Iron Acorn Finial Screwed Into Brass Cap
This antique finial has lost surface detail and is crusted with pitting. It has a lot of surface roughness. It was salvaged before being destroyed after decades of sitting in the weather. It is a primitive cast iron item. It measures 3 inches tall from the tip to the ring around the bottom above the threads. It has very fine threads where it is screwed into the brass cap. They do screw apart despite their age. The second. Third and forth photos show all 3 sides of the finial. Some of the roughness may brush out with a wire brush, but I am not sure.
