They are federal style. The headboard has 3 screws added to the crest rail with buffers behind the crest rail to keep the wall from being damaged by the wood. There is a stain(maybe water) on the left side of the crest rail and on the right side ... moreof the center panel. The center panel has 3 small surface splits in it as well. The footboard has a split on the left side where the center panel meets the post. The dresser has 2 small glove boxes and 3 larger dresser drawers and they all have dovetail joints. There is a nice cheval mirror on top of the dresser with a finial on top of it. The top of the dresser is showing some ware. There are a couple of scuffs and one spot. Overall this set is in good condition. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This set is antique and will not be perfect. The dresser measures 42 inches tall. 42 inches side to side and 23 inches front to back. It weighs 116 pounds. The headboard measures 58 inches tall, 58 inches side to side and 2 inches thick. It is carved from one solid piece of wood with the exception of the two long pieces of wood on the back. It measures 50-1/4” long(44-7/8” without tenons) 10-7/8” high, and 1-1/2” thick(the solid board measures 7/8” thick. It’s a great piece for a project. Or just as a wall hanger. Michael Howard Solid Oak Bedroom Suite Headboard Piers Chest Triple Dresser
I am selling my solid oak complete Michael Howard bedroom suite. Included are the following pieces: Headboard- two compartments with doors on either side and a lift up compartment behind the head of the bed. In the lift up compartment is a secret drawer that pulls out from one side. There is a light in the interior of the lift up compartment that turns on when door is opened. There is also a mirror there as well as a light that turns on with a switch. There are also two plugs and a telephone jack back there. Piers and bridge- There is a large pier on either side of the headboard. This consists of an upper cabinet with three shelves and a lift up hidden door above these cabinets. There is a shelf area below the cabinets and then a slide out shelf with a glass insert that can be removed for use as a lap table then two more drawers underneath ... morethat. Connecting the two piers is a triple mirror with three inset lights above the mirrors. This can be turned on by a dimmer knob that is behind the bed that allows for different levels of lighting which is super nice. Triple dresser- The dresser has nine drawers plus a secret slide out drawer inset into the top middle drawer. There is also a triple mirror on top- the side mirrors can swing into any position- flat. Angled in, etc. Chest- The chest has four drawers. It also has a flip up top that contains a felted interior with a mirror on the bottom of the top so when you open it you can see into the mirror while putting on your jewelry. There is also a side compartment for ties that has hooks on it- you press the side of the chest and the compartment pops open. This is a really super-duper nice solid oak bedroom set. This is a classic American Antique Dresser of SOLID OAK. With hand-carved details. It has the classic Yoke-Stand and Framed Beveled Mirror with prominent carved appointments, all in the original natural oak wood. It is a Four-drawer dresser, and the top bank of drawers are the classical double-bow-front. This Dresser is well over 100 years old. And its construction is truly frontier-old school, and features absolutely ZERO plywood or particleboard. It is all SOLID Oak Wood, and the only'veneer' is the facing on the Bow-Front Drawers. The floriated carving details are also solid oak, and were applied with'brad&glue' The Mirror Glass is original and beveled. It is starting to show a few minor age spots in the silvering.
