Early hand-cut dove-tail ends on the drawers and has working locks with the key and the original casters intact on all four feet. This dressing table measures 70 inches in height from the floor to the top of the finals on the side mirror supports.38 inches in height from the floor to the top of the sides, and 33 3/4 inches to the center portion, with a width of 42 3/4 inches and depth of 20 inches and this piece weighs approximately 100 lbs. Antique Federal style mirrored vanity dating from the early 1900's. Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this piece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the three-part folding mirror. Two small. Dovetailed drawers sit to each side of a long shallow central drawer with a lock. Sorry, no key! Slender tapered legs support the structure and give this piece a light, airy quality. This piece is in very good condition. There are a few very tiny dots of silverloss to the mirrors(they would not show up in pictures) But no cracks or other damage. Vintage Mahogany Vanity or Piano Bench Lacquer
This is an old bench that I have refinished. It was originally a veneer but most of the veneer was missing. I have removed the remains of the veneer an d painted the top with black lacquer. I sanded the remains of the finish on the frame and put a new mahogany stain and clear lacquer finish. The frame is solid mahogany and the top is a hardwood I can not identify. I do not know how old it is but the top is screwed on to the base and the base is constructed with dowel connectors. I tapped it all apart and re-glued the frame before refinishing it. I am not an antique dealer. I just like saving old pieces from the trash and giving them another chance at life. The bench is very sturdy and could even be upholstered rather easily if you wanted. It is 20 1/2 inch tall. 10 7/8 inch deep, 24 inch wide at the back and 21 inch wide at the front. I like ... morethe way the front is cut away to allow easier scooting around your vanity legs. The item was acquired from an estate and it is in good clean condition. The outside measurements of the frame are 18 3/4" wide and 23" high and the highest point of the curve. It would accommodate a mirror that was 16" wide and 24 1/2" high at the highest point of the curve. Two very small pieces of the surface wood are broken off on the lower right side of the frame and there are a couple of pieces of surface wood missing on the back side of the frame. N O RESERVE! Being offered for sale is this Monumental American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Dresser/ vanity with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. This is a superb solid mahogany vanity dressing table made in England circa 1900. To the base it has a knee hole or some times in England years ago they used to let the dog sleep in there.They called it a dog kennel, it has the original cut glass handle. These are a very nice pair of Dressing Table and Washstand made in England circa 1900. There are 3 satinwood panels to the back of the Washstand, it also has the original cut glass handles, to the base it has what used to call a dog kennel were the dog would sleep below to the center. This would have at one time had a bowl and pitcher on the top were people would wash them selves. The condition is very good. The Vanity is in very good condition has all the same details as the Washstand but with a mirror and two trinket boxes to the top. Antique Federal Period Mahogany Vanity Drawers ~ Lt 18th or Early 19th Century
For auction are 5 small drawers from a late 17th to early 18th century vanity. The piece they came from had two spindles which mounted a mirror. They were in disrepair. But the drawers are in excellent shape. Written beneath one drawer is the inscription, Purchsd Octobr 8th 1817 $17.00" Under that is inscribed, Purchsd July 15th 1916 $EN" Small drawers measure 6 3/4 x 4 15/16 x 1 3/16. Medium drawers measure 6 1/2 x 4 15/16 x 4 5/16. Large drawer measures 12 1/2 x 7 15/16 x 2 3/16. Drawer pulls and lock do not appear original. Includes refinishing receipt from 1976. HEPPLEWHITE SHERATON FEDERAL MAHOGANY VANITY DRESSER
This is a lovely Federal Era mahogany dresser. I believe this to be a period piece. It is constructed of mahogany with contrasting veneers. The bottom board of the drawers have a chamfered edge to fit into the drawer slots as well as hand dovetailing. The veneer does have some cracking around the edges as shown in pictures but in overall good condition for the age of the piece. Also pictured is a repair to the mirror frame that seems to have been done a long time ago. It is a very good repair in respect to the strength. It does not feel loose at all. Lastly. It also looks as if the mirror frame was burned by a candle at some point. I have tried to show all of this in the photos as to accurately depict. Otherwise, this is a beautiful piece with graceful straight lines and delicate appearance that has held it's age wonderfully. I will gladly ... morepack this piece for shipping with extreme care.
