To present, for your consideration, this gorgeous Fancy Tall Burl Walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival Marble Top Drop Front Dresser(Circa: ... more1870) This beautiful dresser weighs approximately 140 pounds and measures 90 ½” in total height from the floor to the center top of the crown, 20” in height from the floor to the middle marble top section of the dresser, 31 ½” in height from the floor to the side marble tops, 20” in depth, and 49 ¾” in total width. The center top of the mirror is graced with a beautiful scrolled foliate crown with carved grape cluster center. This beautiful crown is removable for shipping purposes and sits on the gorgeous mirrored top which is adorned with elegant moulding. Many raised burled panels, rosette roundels, fancy leaf carved shoulders, four candle-stands(unusual as most Victorian dressers only have two) and elegant pierced carved grape and leaf carved ornamentations on the sides. The entire mirrored top is removable for shipping purposes and sits on the very ornate white marble top base. The beautiful and removable white marble tops are beveled and in excellent condition for their age. From a functional standpoint. This gorgeous ornate Dresser base has a total of seven drawers(six visible& one hidden drawer on the bottom) all of which are dovetailed and six which are adorned with absolutely gorgeous burled walnut raised panels with intact locks and very fancy rosette and leaf carved drawer pulls. You will notice that there are generous raised burl panel accents on the sides of the drawers as well as down the front sides of the base. The mirror has beautiful carved details at the top, and has a very tall, high profile. The dresser, by contrast, sits quite low, and only has two smaller drawers on top and one large drawer beneath. The original metal hardware is present on the drawers and is quite ornate and beautiful. The mirror will sit higher in reality than it appears in the photos. It was not attached when photographed. The finish on the mirror is in great condition, with only a few exceptionally light surface scratches and dings to it. There is one tiny little chip in the bottom of the mirror frame at the front center.

Period brass tear drop pulls and pin& cove(knapp joint) ends on the drawers. All the drawers have their locks intact but no key. The front of the chest has beautiful incised carvings on the drawers and wood escutcheons. This chest is good quality, solid, sturdy and would make a great addition to any Victorian Decor. Up for auction is a RARE ANTIQUE OAK SALESMAN'S SAMPLE Miniature EASTLAKE MIRRORED BUREAU/ DRESSER Circa 1870-1885. Includes antique oak ornate Eastlake style mirrored dresser with candle holders and lift up compartment on bureau. Ornate applied molding at top of fancy scrolled mirror frame. Mirror can tilt. Grid lines on drawer fronts are typical of Eastlake style of the late 19th century. Regarding wood color, it is a medium oak color(looks a bit more red/orange in the photos) Any dark areas are shadows and white areas are reflections. As you can see this is a wonderful piece and could be used in many places in a home, whether as a miniature Salesman's Sample or a doll bureau for dolls. Condition is very good, sturdy and clean, ... moreno odors, ready to go into your home. As with most antiques, it has it's minor flaws, nothing to totally distract from it's beauty, or usability, aged wood has such character. It does have some chips, dings, and marks, and one missing drawer pull. I chose to sell this item with the original pulls and it is your choice to replace them with 6 other pulls if you wish, or find a matching plain black knob. Seems to be original finish but I am not sure. Could be improved with restoration but again that is your choice. Drawers work fair, no sticking. Mirror is in very good condition and has wide bevel, might be new, and is missing the wooden backing. One peg missing underneath mirror outer frame but other three hold it in place fine. Mirror frame is attached to bureau with pegs that just slip into holes in the bureau ledge, and more brackets in back. All in all a fabulous miniature! Hard to find miniature Eastlake style. Victorian Eastlake Dresser Mirror Spoon Carved Walnut For sale is(1) antique 1880’s Eastlake style dresser and mirror done in walnut with chip carved detail The dresser measures 76 inches high overall x 38.5 inches wide x 18 inches deep. The height of the dresser chest is 34 inches The three drawers are 7 inches deep on the inside and each has the original lock mechanism with brass keyhole insert. Each drawer has the traditional Eastlake chip carving detail. All the drawers are dovetailed and have the original bottoms. The hardware is the classic brass teardrop and I believe these are not original but correct for the period. There are 4 wooded casters on the bottom and appear to be replacements. The swivel mirror measures 27 inches wide x 21 inches high and has the original mirror. The pictures show a sheet to cut down on the reflection. ... moreA carved detail on the center top of the mirror section matches the lower carvings. The color of the dresser is a medium dark brown walnut. The finish is original and the finish on top of the dresser is quite excellent and hand rubbed. The original brass& ebony teardrop drawer pulls, pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawers and the original beveled edge marble tops. This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. The mirror is a vintage replacement and in excellent condition and measures 31 1/4 inches high by 17 1/4 inches wide. Solid Cherry.....English Antique Furniture Eastlake dresser commode...circa 1810
This is a charming English made solid cherry antique dresser circa 1810. I acquired this from a couple who came to the United States from England. This piece is consistent with English cabinetmaking.This is made from solid cherry planks. The candle stands which flank the mirror are wonderful.The carvings and hand turned finials are beautiful. The hardware is all original except for the 2 small upper drawers which is new. All of the lower drawers have locks which work excellently with a new key. The hand cut dovetail joinery and hand chamfered drawer bottoms are beautiful. The drawer fronts are 1" thick solid cherry, there is no veneer on this entire piece.The secondary wood is poplar. The mirror glass is new.The mirror is on tilting mounts(it does not stay fixed when tilted. Just let in hang vertically) This piece has lots of battle ... morescars(nicks, dings etc) and some repairs earned over its lifetime such as dings in both side panels about the size of a"pea" The top(across the full width.left to right) has an age separation shrinkage crack which I repaired(you can still tell there was a crack despite the repair(see photo) some drawer bottoms have age shrinkage separations,there are some age shrinkage separations(cracks) in the side panels, worn edges, small stains in the top and character marks consistent with any fine antique.I refinished the top and the mirror frame, after repairing a missing piece of wood around the mirror thumb screw. The inlaid brass keyhole escutcheons are all in place. Most of the dresser has the original finish with a gorgeous patina as you can easily see in the mirror support photos etc. This wonderful piece will look beautiful wherever you decide to place it whether an entryway. Bedroom or living room.I restored all of the drawers and reinforced some internally with wood blocking.The drawers are strong, stable and they slide excellently.I t has such delicate graceful lines which sets it apart from the crowd. all the best. 1870's Eastlake Style Tall Walnut Dresser w/Elaborate Mirrored Gallery A magnificent solid walnut and burled walnut dresser with an unusual fancy gallery. The dresser is an 1870's period piece. With four large heavily carved drawers. The drawers have"scallop and dowel" construction, which was used in the early to mid 1800's, after which dovetailing was more commonly used. The dresser is beautifully spoon carved in a floral motif, with a pointed oval of burled walnut in the center. There are two locking hankie drawers on either side of the gallery. The elegantly carved gallery has the original beveled glass mirror. It has a small amount of silvering loss on the lower right corner, very minor. The gallery is pierce carved, with turned spindle supports. The drawers all have the original locks, in working order. The key ... moreis new. The original finish of the dresser is a dark, rich, chestnut brown. The brass hardware is old and in very good condition. There are a couple of small professional repairs of the gallery. The drawer interior is 5 x 7 2 1/4" Primitive hand dovetailing on front and back of drawer, interior woods are right for the period. There are traces and one piece of the hinges which originally attached it to the dresser. The finish and brasses are absolutely original. It is in great shape for its age, as pictured. The structural pieces are firm, the two carved pieces are loose but could easily be more firmly attached, but I don't mess with antiques of this age. Antique (c.1870) lady's dresser in the style of Charles Eastlake
This"Charles Eastlake" style lady's dresser has been in our family for more than 140 years. It belonged to my great grandmother. A gift from her new husband on their wedding day in the early 1870s. She was 15; he, 31. The dresser is made from deep red cherry or mahogany wood. The piece is in wonderful condition except for a few minor flaws(shown) For five generations of women, it has never been used for anything but its original purpose, a lady's vanity above and three-drawer clothes chest below. A 7 3/4 x 16 1/4 inch marble insert is centered on the top front surface. In addition to three large drawers below. It has jewelry or glove drawers on each side of the top and two small knick-knack shelves on either side of the mirror. The total height from the original porcelain casters to the rounded finial on top is 75 inches. ... moreThe maximum depth from front to back is 18 1/2 inches and the width is 35 1/4 inches. The mirror is on a swivel. Allowing it to be adjusted back and forth vertically. The mirror dimensions are 11 1/4 x 19 inches and the unbeveled glass is too clear to be original. The three drawers below have interior dimensions of 29 inches wide, 13 1/2 deep. The front of each lower drawer has a burled inset(probably faux) typical of Eastlake furniture. The glove and jewelry drawers are 6 1/2 inches wide, 13 1/2 inches deep. All 8 knobs are original. This dresser was manufactured in an American factory or shop. Probably in the Midwest, following design concepts of English architect and designer Charles Eastlake. His ideas were disseminated in his book Hints on Household Taste in Furniture. Upholstery and other Details, first published in England in 1868. And then in United States in 1872. Eastlake pieces, though contemporary with Victorian furniture, 1870-1890, are actually anti-Victorian. Bed and dresser is mahogany and-Dresser has marble top. No breaks or cracks and is the original top-Dresser has original bevel mirror and in good shape-Bed has matching foot board like the headboard-but half it's height. Dresser has the same design on top of dresser as the bed does-Bed is a full size, but we can put a queen mattress on it. Head board has a crack in it. If you look at the 4 th picture you can see the crack, a little glue will do the job. The set has never been refinished or repaired. The set is big, thick wood and heavy. I am pleased to offer for sale a wonderful 19th century Victorian Eastlake Dresser grand and delicious to the eye. The measurements are 73 inches high. 19 inches deep and 44 inches wide. It is in excellent condition and very rich looking. The Dresser is in walnut and the secondary woods are tulip. It has wonderful hand carved details. The Dresser has two small glove drawers on the side and one at the top as well. There are three drawers at the bottom and two candle stands on each side. The oval mirror has some smokey shadows. The marble is a soft brown with white highlights.This Dresser is in great condition with very few apologies and would be a great addition to anyone's home. The beautiful high back bed offers and unusual urn carving in the center of the headboard flanked on each side by burl walnut raised panels. This burling can be found through out the set. A matching swivel mirror tops the dresser. The washstand features 2 drawers over 2 doors. Brown Tennessee marble tops both the dresser and washstand. The heavy brass swan pulls we believe to be original and or the prettiest I've ever seen. The large beveled mirror is in excellent condition with no chipping or silver loss. Very solid and well built the bed and dresser have no apologies. The washstand does have a small piece of wood missing at one hinge(see photo) and the door strip is missing~appears to have been for ... moresome time. This is not very noticeable and does not take away from the beauty or integrity of the set. The key works all locks on the dresser.
