Absolutely Gorgeous Birdseye Maple Dresser& Mirror.From 1917 Life is short. Surround yourself with beauty! A spectacular piece of American made furniture that glows with its wonderful birdseye maple. This was made by the Northern Furniture Company which was located in Sheboygan. Wisconsin. The company logo is branded inside the top middle drawer. I am very certain of the date this piece was made.since it was stamped on the back(as required at the time) of the mirror glass. The original mirror was damaged so I had a new custom mirror made.The new mirror is a work of art itself, it was hand beveled(not machine made) following the contours of the frame, it looks fantastic. I restored this piece meticulously from top to bottom. Including some veneer restoration. Of course the drawers feature high quality dovetail joinery at all four corners ... moreof the drawers. The drawers were all taken apart and fully restored, strong and rock solid,they slide excellently.I restored the entire finish with many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish, bringing out the wonderful character of the all the wonderful maple grains. A fact about the birdseye.it is called"heavy birdseye maple"this means it has the most birdseyes per square inch of all birdseye maple. This"heavy birdseye maple" is extremely rare and highly sought after. You will notice the stunning darker brown highlights(photos) in wood such as on the front legs and the mirror frame. These are natural highlights in the wood. The birdseye maple is thick veneers. The solid maple knobs are original to the piece. the solid brass keyhole covers I added for flair. All of the locks work perfectly, with the new key.This piece is built like a tank, made with solid maple. Spectacular"Highly Figured Sold Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts.All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand ... morerubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction.Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years.The photos show casters in the legs, they will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. Antique 1950's hard rock maple dresser
This is a lovely 1950's hard rock maple antique dresser- chest of drawers. This vintage dresser is turqoise with a chocolate glaze and slightly distressed. The top of the dresser is a beautiful English chestnut finish. The chest of drawers measures 30" wide x 30" tall x 18" deep. There are three dresser drawers. The top dresser drawer is shallow and the two bottom drawers are deep. The dresser hardware is painted antique brass metallic. All original hardware is included except on the top drawer as one of the original dresser drawer pulls was missing. This vintage maple dresser would be great in a bedroom or to add a pop of color in a dining or livng room area. Delivery within 50 miles of Paducah. Kentucky is free, and within 100 miles is $40. Fabulous early 19th century antique American cherry and tiger maple dresser with original Sandwich glass knobs. Dresser measures 39 1/2" across. 19 1/2" deep, and 45" tall. Drawers are constructed with fine dovetails. They all retain their original locks, but I don't have the key. There is writing inside the top of the dresser which I believe details the origin of the dresser. I can make out something that looks like"day before Christmas" and numbers, but I can't read most of it. A photo of the writing is shown in the next to the last photo above. Antique Baumritter (pre-Ethan Allen) 6 Drawer Solid Maple Wood Dresser
I am pleased to offer this antique authentic Baumritter 6 drawer dresser. Circa 1952. And manufactured Beecher Falls, Vermont, U.S.A. it actually pre-dates Ethan Allen. This dresser is the real deal. 100% original. All solid Maple construction in a nutmeg finish with all of the original hardware. It measures 46" tall X 33 5/8" wide X 18 1/2" deep. It features beveled/rounded edging on both the top and each drawer face. This dresser was built by Baumritter New York just prior to being acquired by Ethan Allen. Of note in the styling is the elevated stance with scalloped lower/base edging. Once acquired by Ethan Allen, the CRP line continued through the 1950's with similar construction; but the pieces were produced with a flat base that sat flush upon the floor. The craftsmanship and quality of materials used on these pieces ... morewas exceptional. All 4 corners of each drawer are dovetailed. Each drawer slides using a central guide bar and groove; all of which is precise Maple wood construction. The top 2 drawers are also sectioned. Those drawers have a face width of 4 1/2" and a usable depth of 3 1/2" The lower 4 drawers are not sectioned. Each of those 4 have a usable depth of 5" This piece is absolutely authentic. The original brass Baumritter New York plaquard with company crest is still affixed to the side wall of the second drawer. In same drawer. On the floor, is literally heat branded"Made in Vermont" over"Beecher Falls" within a Maple leaf(to represent the wood and its' regional origin) Look closely at the photos and you can see the blackened/burnished patina from the heat used in branding. Furthermore. On the backside of this piece is twice stamped, Inspected" over"April 28,1952" over"Inspector No. 1" Apparently they did it twice as the first stamp was not wholly clear. This is a Wonderful Vintage Piece of Antique Ethan Allan Baumritter Furniture. This is a Beautiful Dresser Top CHEVAL Mirror with drawer base. It was made in Vermont. And is made of SOLID MAPLE. It has the Original mirror and even a Birdseye maple drawer bottom. The mirror is excellent with no flaking or stains, and the finish on wood is Awesome, only a few light scratches here and there. The drawer is still tight with no loose joints, and mirror fits on spindles with Original Hardware. It has white porcelain knobs on it, I do not know if these are original, I think it might have has a bronze color metal knob originally. Striped or curly grain maple about 1825 in New England, this understated chest or dresser has glowing antique patina. The glowing finish is in excellent condition with just enough mars at the edges for antique character. Cut from a single wide plank. The top has an old hand carved plug at the back, whether as a repair or to fill a knot, we will never know. Entirely hand planed with some square nail heads visible, drawers have chamfered bottoms and hand cut dovetail joints. The right side has a shrinkage separation from age. Antique Bird eye maple dresser and original mirror
Used Bird's Eye Maple Dresser. This piece came from my grandmothers house. She was born in 1900. I don't know where she got this piece from. I used it and my son used it as a dresser. I was told it is the original mirror- it is detachable. The mirror is in excellent shape- it was in storage. The mirror easily attaches/unattached with two pieces of wood. The dresser is about 49 inches tall. The mirror about 21 inches- total height about 70 inches tall. It is 18 wide and about 30.5 inches across the front. Each drawer has a key hole. All the pulls and key holes are original. The two front little drawers are curved to match the curve of the front. The four bottom drawers are flat. It is on wheels The inside of the drawer have some pencil marking and one has black ink spilled The worst part of the veneer is the bottom drawer top right ... morecorner- zoom in and you can see it. Notice the joints that connect the drawer. My research shows it is a knapp joint. Used between 1871 and 1905. I have more photos if you want. Non-smoking home. This is a very nice antique Victorian maple mirror for a dresser or chest of drawers. Typically used on a five drawer tall chest or highboy. It retains it's original beveled glass and measures aprox. 34 1/2" wide x 23" high with just the mirror being 17 1/2" wide x 19 1/4" high. The glass is nice and clean and it retains it's original back. There is a small piece of applied carving missing at the lower left corner, otherwise it is fine. This is a custom masterpiece I have created from a beautiful circa 1890 dresser. This pieces just makes you say"wow" This was made/sold by the Hartman Furniture and Carpet Company in Chicago. Il. The original shipping label is still on the back in great condition. This custom beauty would be perfect anywhere, as a dresser sideboard, media console, in an entryway/foyer. I have restored this piece from top to bottom. The dovetail joinery(the best made)drawers have been completely disassembled and restored including custom made drawer slides a s needed. The drawers slide perfectly. Of course this entire piece is solid hardwood construction as you would expect with an expertly crafted piece of furniture. The entire backsplash trim detail I custom made from the black base to the finial. Including the beautiful inlay work. The top three drawers are birdseye maple.They are very high quality veneer with many"birdseyes" and the shape of the eyes is some of the best I have ever seen. The large lower 2 drawers are veneered with stunning burled/flame mahogany. Notice the awesome black wood tones mixed into the burled mahogany grains. These colors are all natural. The finish I used was many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish over the birdseye maple and the mahogany for the gorgeous natural finish you see which protects the wood and brings out the wonderful grains and textures.The trim along the lower edge of the side panels is a custom addition. I finished all of the mahogany drawer bottoms with many. Many coats of hand rubbed varnish. The upper left drawer I lined with royal blue velvet just for show. Circa late 1920's.spectacular solid maple Shaker/Craftsman style chest of drawers It was love at first sight when I saw this wonderful classic chest of drawers at an estate sale. It was in need of much love and attention! I knew it had the makings for greatness. This is a first class dresser all the way. It is made from solid maple. Not veneers.The solid maple knobs are fantastic as you can easily see, they are all original other than 1 which was missing, I had a master wood turner make an exact replica of an existing knob. the detailed turnings are rare& beautiful. The back panel on the chest is new.The chest has 2 upper drawers and 4 lower drawers.I restored each drawer by taking them apart. Then regluing and clamping.I custom made many drawer glides and runners. The drawers feature dovetail joinery at all four corners.The drawer ... moresides are made of solid maple 9/16" thick, that is virtually unheard of quality in a dresser made today. One of the finest features of this dresser is the beautiful maple with all of its beauty marks and lovely natural grains including some birdseye. Tiger graining and other beautiful figuring.There are also some darker brown areas which add to the look and character. There are some age related shrinkage cracks(non-structural) in the lower portion of the side panels.approx, 4-5" long. I think they add great aged character to the piece. The maple pegs in the top and on the lower front skirt trim are an awesome quality detail. This"diamond in the rough" was hidden under a very worn opaque finish. It had a brown tinted laquer finish(popular in its day) which hid all of the lovely grain you see now.I chose to showcase the natural maple wood and pegs.I hand rubbed many. Many coats of varnish on this dresser giving it a wonderful look, bringing out the lovely wood grains, providing wonderful depth and protecting the wood. Of course like any fine antique. Well, when my starving artist/writer daughter heard about this, she retorted"WHAT ABOUT ME? So, being the loving and fair Mom, here we go. This antique chest of drawers was my daughter's dresser for years. The chest of drawers is unique in that it has doors on the top that conceal 3 drawers; doors are paneled with decorations. The bottom has 2 large drawers. Top has a back upright piece so nothing will fall behind the dresser! The chest measures 54-1/2" x 34" x 21-1/2" but to the top without back piece it is 51" The upper 3 drawers are ... more26" wide x 17" deep x 5" high. The bottom 2 drawers are 28" wide x 15-1/2" deep x 4-1/2" high and 28" wide x 15-1/2" deep x 9" high. There are some cracks. Chips,and some scratches in the veneer on the top as shown; there are also cracks on the top under the veneer where the laminated maple base shrunk. There are small cracks and some minor waviness on the right hand side laminate. Bottom of front leg has a piece missing(like that when we acquired it. There is applied decorative pieces and brass hardware. The legs have wood casters. She also had a bird's eye dressing table/vanity with chair that went with this. It is also listed. The Mirror is Original to the dresser and in fantastic shape, No cracks, smoke or haze. It has a 1/4" bevel around the outside perimeter. and hung via two supports, that allow it to tilt. The front legs are a lions claw foot design, the back are square. There are removable casters on all four legs. The drawer locks are skeleton keyed. All drawers open and close smooth. There are some chips in the veneer located on the ends of the two upper front drawers. Not real obvious but need to be mentioned. Fine Antique Empire-Style Bonnet Bureau in Book-Matched Flame/Birdseye Maple& Mahogany Early 19th-Century 45”W x 21.5”D x 53”H Four drawers. Solid brass drawer handles. All drawers have keyed locks. But the key is unavailable. The smaller drawers are 10” deep. The top drawer has wood trim around the perimeter and is considerably deeper than the others. Hand-carved. Fluted uprights on each side. The bureau is tight and solid. With generous drawers. It has some dents and minor abrasions, but overall is in very good condition. And is a superb example of cabinet work of the highest level. Charming Vintage/Antique Wooden 3 Drawer Dresser Maple 1930s/1940s
This is an antique/vintage wooden dresser. It has 3 large drawers. Each drawer has two wooden knob handles. There is scroll like cut outs on the base and the top is nicely rounded. The feet have wooden buttons covering nail/screw inserts. One of these buttons is missing. The middle drawer sticks a bit when opening and closing. There are normal wear marks. But nothing is jumping out as damage to the dresser. It's currently finished is medium toned stain. It's a solid dresser that has all fixable/repairable issues or can get used as is leveraging the vintage charm. This piece is solid wood through out and is in good condition. Just waiting for a new home. There are some minor dings/wear marks but given it's age and constant use for the last 80+ years it's really nice.
