Here is a 5-panel door that came out of a house that was built in the early 1900's. The door is in good overall condition with a few coats of paint on it; there are scratches. Holes and gouges throughout(see pics) Any issues with the door are certainly fixable. Especially if the door will be painted. The core of the door is oak. But I'm not completely sure of the veneer; it's either oak or mahogany. This door is very heavy! Robust. Antique, interior doors salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. Each door has a solid birch core, covered with 1/8" birch veneers. Please keep in mind. These doors are not hollow and are quite heavy. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware. ... moreHowever. Antique Vintage 2 Panel Interior Door 31 5/8" X 79 1/4"
2 hinges were originally installed so that if you wanted to PULL the door open you would grab the door knob on the right hand side. Mortised lock and escutcheon plates included. Hinge side height is 79 1/2" Opening side is 79 1/4" This is the last of four doors I installed in my home. This is an extra door. Door has a nice rich mahogany color to it but needs refinishing. When I purchased them from an antique dealer I was told they came from a demolitioned school house in South New Jersey. Note.
