These grand, antique pocket doors were salvaged from an old, Victorian mansion in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Each door is made of solid pine(doube laminate construction-2 3/8" thick! and has 8 recessed panels on both sides. Combined, they weigh about 500lbs! We figure that the odds of these doors going to a similar home like the one they came from are very slim. We could cut them down to more realistic sizes-email us for a quote. Each door has a solid pine core with 1/4" cherry veneers and has 5 panels with stepped molding on each side. Hardware: The doors are currently not equipped with any hardware. However. There is a strip of wood added to the top of the door to even out the height. The edge of the lock ... morestile is chipped. On the interior, there is a small chip in the top strip of wood that was added to the door. The bottom and top hinge mortises were altered to make room for different hinges. Door#2: The door's height was unevenly cut by 1/8" at some point. Most likely to compensate for a settling foundation or a warped floor. On the exterior, the top of the lock stile is chipped and has a loose strip of wood. There is a break in the bottom hinge mortise. There are scratches and chips in the bottom panel. On the interior, the bottom hinge stile is chipped. Door#3: The door's height was unevenly cut by 1/8" at some point. Most likely to compensate for a settling foundation or a warped floor. They all have a traditional, Arts& Crafts style, single panel design with wide, stepped molding contouring the inner edges of their panels. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide ... morestrength and stability to the door.
