This door has 3 recessed panels and one window. If you're not familiar with cypress. It's considered a soft wood, but it's quite durable and rot-resistant. It is very popular in the South because it could stand up to the high humidity. Hardware: This door is not equipped with any hardware. However. This door has an uncommon arrangement of 8 glass lites. If you're not familiar with cypress. It's considered a soft wood, but it's quite durable and rot-resistant. It is very popular in the South because it could stand up to the high humidity. At some point. Someone cut a thin layer from the top rail. The removed portion, was put back or replaced later on. It's firmly held in place, and does not require any further repair. There is a visible seam, which could be filled with wood putty prior to repaint or refinish. Penn Antique Restoration. 36"x83" Antique Oak French Entry Door w/ 15 Beveled Glass Lites. Beautiful. Heavy(about 150lbs! antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/16" thick, oak veneers, and has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided, beveled glass lites. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Also. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" ... morethick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. Each door is made of solid white pine and has 10 windows. Unfortunately. 6 glass lites are broken, and only 14 out of the 20 glass lites are intact. Each door has a solid Douglas Fir core covered with 1/16" birch veneers and features 5 wavy glass lites. Although the 2 doors look like a pair when placed side-by-side. They need a bit of work before they could become a true pair. One door has a lip on the edge of its lock stile and the other doesn't. The hinge stile is wider than the lock stile on the door without the lip. The extra wide stile would make it pretty easy to cut into to create a groove for the lip of the other door to fit into, and make the doors a true pair.
