The glass is a clear with different textures and a great design. Each door has approx 142 jewels! They were originally standard double entrance doors. At some point the knobs were removed and holes were patched. The then installed double action hinges to swing back and forth. Push bars were added at the same time as those hinges. Lightly sanded and stained dark walnut. These doors are heavy and solid: well preserved with the original heavy paint. Near arched area there has been small areas wood loss due to age: more attention needed to repair-sanding. Refinishing,etc is recommended. I have had these doors for over 20 years stored in my heated garage. Planed on using this unique set of doors in my home but my remodeling projects never allowed me to use them in a location where they could be viewed properly& appreciated. Looking at the wood grain. I believe they are oak… Glass panels are in Very Good condition- No Chips. No Cracks, No pieces missing. There is NO putty or glazing around the Glass Panels. Glass panels are firmly& solidly attached with wood trim around each piece. There are No rattles or loose glass panels. Glass Panels are a Frosted Snowflake design. It provides privacy& allowslight to shine through. Door are in Very Good Condition- There are NO… Cracks. Chips, or Pieces of wood missing on either door& there is NO dry rot or decay. Doors are already pre-notch for hinges… 3 notches on each ... moredoor. Top/ Middle/ Bottom. Each door is 24 inches wide…however when they are closed the overall width is 47.50 inches. This is due to a rabbit that is cut into one door to allow for proper/ normal/ overlap closing. The Height of each door is 95.50 inches. Each door is 1.75 inches thick. Each Snowflake Glass panel is 15inches tall and 9 inches wide. These are Heavy doors… Each door weighs 50 lbs. Handles are Brass…They do need a good cleaning. On one door there are two brass handles which operate the pivot locking devices at the top and bottom. When you turn the top handle a square metal bar approximately ¼ inch thick will rise out of the top of the door and would go into a hole that you would have drilled into your wood frame. Description This is a great door that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of pine and is unpainted. The bottoms each have 2 raised panels. The top of each has a nice piece of leaded glass. All of the glass is clear distorted. I see no cracks or breaks. All of the ornate Victorian hardware is intact except the slide bolt keeper. They measure 48 inches wide by 79.25 tall. They are 1.5 inches thick. The glass only is approx. 16.25 by 40.25 inches. Overall they are in good condition. They need a bit of work before they could become a true pair. One door has a lip on the edge of its lock stile and the other doesn't. The hinge stile is wider than the lock stile on the door without the lip. The extra wide stile would make it pretty easy to cut into to create a groove for the lip of the other door to fit into, and make the doors a true pair. Description This is a great set that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. They are made of pine and are heavily varnished. The top of each door has a panel of leaded glass. Most of the glass is distorted except around the central flower which has flat clear glass. There are 3 flat panels below. Most of the hardware needs to be replaced. They measure 48 inches wide together. 91.25 inches tall and are 1.5 inches thick. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good scrubbing but will clean up nicely. There are a couple of small. Tight hairlines. There is a light cracks at the upper mortise bolt. One door was trimmed at the bottom. Antique French partition doors. Large - 15 pane daisy glass.
This is a pair of French doors as you see. They are the type that one opens and closes freely while the other has a bolt at the top and bottom that you trigger to swing the other. They are large ones and were used to separate rooms. These have been stored for about 40+ years in an attic- so could use a paint job obviously but the wood is in very good condition.
