This 38” 8-foot tall entry door features a triad of square panels at both the top and the bottom, with dentil trim below the window. The stained glass features a centerpiece of clear beveled glass and ribbed glass, surrounded by a brilliant green border. Gorgeous glass work! This door started life as a custom piece crafted for a Hillsborough. California mansion. Its most striking elements are the beautiful glasswork; fabulous original hardware including doorknob, rose, key plate, and strikeplate; and the truly unique carved, bas-relief ribbons on one side of the door. An architectural ... morehistorian estimated its manufacture date as sometime between 1900 and 1910. Based on its construction. It does show wear from its age and several moves. There are two hairline cracks in the glasswork. Several repaired dings to the wood window frame, and the wood joins in that frame have parted slightly. It appears as though the hinge side may once have been drilled for the lock mechanism, then refilled. The finish is alligatored, and there are scratches that range from faint to fairly deep. White paint overspray is present on the big brass hinges. All of these are shown in the pictures; please examine them carefully. The original brass hardware is included and is absolutely stunning. Key included. Which may or may not be original to the door, but it does work! Measurements are approximate: Height 78-3/8" Width 27-7/8" Depth 1-3/4" You can pick this up in the San Carlos hills. Description This is an exceptional set of doors that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. The door is made of pine and is painted on both sides. There are 2 raised panels at the bottom. Most of the hardware needs replacing. The stained glass panel has a gold border and a geometric clear distorted glass background. I see no cracks or breaks. It each measures 34.25 inches wide by 81.5 inches tall and is almost 1.5 inches thick. The glass only is approx. 24 x 39.5. Overall they are in good condition. It measures 33-3/4 inches wide and 81-1/4 inches tall and does have a strip added at the bottom which can be removed to make it 80-1/2 inches tall. It is missing the handle hardware on one side. An extraordinary antique pocket door. Circa 1900, with amazing American stained glass. The door's glass pane features an abstract design in a playful variety of stained, ripple and granite glass. The central medallion is composed of ripple glass in clear, amber, green and blue hues and is anchored by a red rectangular frame. The clear granite background is framed by a double border of clear ripple and red glass; two rows of sun-purple diamonds line the piece at top and bottom. Antique Stained Glass French Door, Double Door, Steel Frame
Remarkable piece. There are only two small broken places. One of the clear panes is cracked and one of the accent panes is also cracked. The colored glass is perfect. These are easily replaced as the lead caning is intact. The dimensions are 77 1/2" tall. 45" wide-total. Each door is 21 3/4" wide. This is extremely heavy. Over 200lbs! The doors do open but I'm not sure about the lock. No key. The multi-point locking mechanisms seem to work properly(there are 4) although they may need cleaning and oiling. There are 130 separate pieces of glass. All appear to be original. The color is much more striking in person and the clear glass is not fogged or stained. Note the picture with white paper behind it. The frame is a very heavy steel strapping and the two metal panels at the bottom are in great condition. The channels that ... moremake up the casing are still full of mortar or concrete. Looks like it can be chiseled out with relative ease. I don't have the history but I suspect it came from France or possibly England. Very typical of a greenhouse or sunroom. Shipping this door would be very expensive as well as risky. Please understand that it needs to be picked up. I will deliver within 80 miles of San Antonio.
