Antique doors salvaged from old homes in Northeastern Ohio. The doors are made of solid heartpine, and have 5 raised panels on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer. The tops of the lock and hinge stiles, top rail, 2nd to top rail, edges of the lock and hinge stiles, middle and bottom panels and the entire lock stile are all chipped; and there is a crack and a loose piece of wood on the bottom of the hinge stile. Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. The door is finished on both sides. But there are spots and patches of paint ... morehere and there. Antique Victorian 5 panel 3 hinge Door w/ lock/knob hardware
For Sale is an antique 5 panel hinged door. I purchased a home built in 1880. The door was in storage in the attic. I am not sure if this was ever installed in this home. They had a grease pencil mark that said"SOLD" so I am guessing it was purchased as an antique to install. But never did. I have done no rework or restoration to it. I wiped it down to remove dust and dirt from storage. Please note the color or stain on one side is slightly darker than the other. Please review all the Photos. I do not have the keys. 31.5"x89" Antique Victorian Swinging Solid Fir Wood Interior Door 5 Raised Panel
Penn Antique Restoration. 31.5"x89" Antique Victorian Swinging Door w/5 Panels. Magnificent. Antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir, and is finished on one side and painted blue on the other. There are 5 raised panels on both sides of the door. Notice the chamfered(routed) edges with lark's tongue detail bordering every panel-what great Victorian style details! The door was converted at some point into a"swinging door. which means that it was installed with a spring-loaded, pivot hinge installed in it's bottom corner, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. The door no longer has it's pivot hinge or push plates. However, just because it was used as a swinging door, doesn't mean that you have to. We could cut off the rounded ... moresides and trim the door to 30"W, or we could cut and then add to the sides to widen it to 32" or wider. We could also cut the height of the door to just above of the area where the hinge was installed(which would make the door 87 3/4" Or if you need the height or need it taller, we could plug the mortised area and even add to it. Look at the last photos of another door that we modified as an example. Condition: The door is strong and sturdy and only has minor cosmetic blemishes that you would expect to find on a 100+ year old door. Most of the scrapes. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and has 5 raised panels. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. 25"x79" Antique Interior Heart Pine Wood Door 5 Horizontal Raised Panel White
Up for auction is a vintage interior wooden five panel door. It has the original glass knobs still attached. It is a genuine piece of history waiting to be added to your décor. The hinges are not a complete set. One is missing one half. The glass knobs are very stricking. They are a complete set of knobs with one on each side of the door. The paint is in vintage shape for its age. You will see some scuffs and scrapes on the one side and the other has the bottom four panels down a different color. It appears something was in front of the door when the second coat of old paint was added many years ago. Along one edge of the door there is a crack that runs up the side. Here's a truly beautiful piece of architectural history for you. This is an oak veneer. Solid core, five panel interior door. This door was salvaged(by my Dad) from the in St. Louis. MO during the mid 1970's. This door measures approximately 31 11/16" wide by 83" tall by 2" thick with a 1/8" veneer. I believe the core is ash. The door weighs approximately 70lbs. This door has five recessed panels and it has been sandblasted to reveal a beautiful woodgrain. The door will look truly incredible when finished. No lock. Or knobs are included(at the moment) The lock cavity measures approximately 4 1/8" deep by 7/8" wide by 5 1/2" tall. The knob is placed ... moreapproximately 35 3/8" from the floor. Certainly a very interesting and unique addition to your home or office. You could pay an equal price for a similar door at a big box store but with none of the genuine history that this fine door has to offer.
