Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Y&T Neo-Classical Brass Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Key. Elegant. Antique, interior lockset made by“Yale& Towne” of Stamford, CT during the late 1800’s. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 3-section spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin. All brass parts are solid brass. Not plated iron. Originally, all brass parts were copper-plated. All of the plating has worn off of the knobs, however, the escutcheons and lock faceplate still retain almost all of their original plating. The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. The oval knobs and escutcheons have a beautiful Neo-Classical style pattern consisting of beads. Y&T made locks that had bigger spaces between their upper passage latches and lower deadbolt latches than other manufacturers. We have a few strike plates(keeper or receiver plates) that match up just right with the locks. But we would have to modify a few more to ensure that each lock has a matching strike plate. Listed is an old vintage lot of yale and town locks. Knobs, mortise, and a couple skeleton keys. Y&T AS185 is the inscription on the back of the door plates. All the mortises have yale on them. Most antique locks only have 1 tumbler, and the more tumblers in a lock, the more sophisticated a key must be in order to engage the lock. You can't just use any ordinary key, we need to customize one for each lock-see details below. The sets were salvaged from Eastern Nebraska. We found the parts with a beautiful. I recently found this at an estate sale. And it is a beauty! Wish I could use it! The lock is manufactured by Yale and Towne.a brass mono lock knob set. The knobs and plates are also manufactured by Yale. It works! It is so heavy at about 6 1/2" It is around 11 1/2" long and 7" door knob to door knob. Lots of nice patina!

Antique Yale Deco Nickel Brass Exterior Entry Door Lockset Set Knob Plate Lock
Penn Antique Restoration. Antique"Yale" Nickel-plated Brass Exterior Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Screws. Rare. Elegant, antique, exterior door lockset made by, Yale" of Stamford CT sometime during the first half of the previous century. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass mortise cylinder, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin connect the knobs, and all 8 of the original screws to fasten the parts to the door. All brass parts are solid. Brass, not plated steel. Except for the escutcheons which are stamped(pressed) brass, all brass parts are heavy, thick, cast brass. Originally, all parts were nickel plated, and surprisingly, most of the plating remains! Either the plating is very thick, or this set was hardly ... moreused, because after almost a century of use, the plating should've at least wore off of the knobs. The knobs and escutcheons have a fantastic. Art Deco style design, which is accentuated by an unusual textured detail. At the point of salvage. Some parts were painted and all parts were dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. All parts have some cosmetic blemishes including nicks and scratches. Which are best conveyed by the photos. However, these just add a distressed charm to the parts and do not pose any threat to the structural integrity of the parts. All parts are strong, sturdy, and ready to serve another lifetime. About the lock: The mortise lock is reversible and could accommodate a right or left swinging door. We found the cylinder mortise without a key. Without a key. We are uncertain if the cylinder works. You could take it to a local locksmith, who may be able to rekey it. Worst case, if he/she can not make a key for it: 1) you would have to buy a new cylinder with keys for about $20 and widen the hole in the exterior plate from it's current size of 5/8" diameter to 1 1/8

Antique vintage door knob and Yale lock set. These came from an old house that was being renovated in downtown Colorado Springs. The porcelain knobs are in good condition with no cracks. The lock is quite rusty but the knob still moves the latch. Lock measures 3 1/2"x4 1/2" and knobs are 2 1/2" across. Please note that while we take great care to protect our inventory. The knobs, escutcheons, and lock faceplates were copper plated. However, most of the copper has wore off over ... morethe years, leaving the parts with a nice, distressed, finish. The amount of copper plating varies from part to part(see"Group Photos" to compare) All of the locks are reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. Y&T made locks that had bigger spaces between their upper passage latches and lower deadbolt latches than other manufacturers. We have a few strike plates(keeper or receiver plates) that match up just right with the locks. But we would have to modify a few more to ensure that each lock has a matching strike plate. The oval knobs and escutcheons feature an elegant Neo-Classical style pattern consisting of beads. Acanthus, and seashells. All parts have been cleaned of paint. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. The buttons on the lock faceplate control a function. Which disables/enables the exterior knob from turning. Once the bottom button is depressed, the exterior knob will not turn, and the latch will remain extended, in the locked position. In essence, the latch acts as a deadbolt. Once the exterior knob is frozen, and the door is shut, the only way to retract the upper latch is by using the key for the top keyhole, or by turning the interior knob. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the house/room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Box is marked Yale made in Canada AG8080 inside door Set AY22 Finish The Yale and Towne Manufacturing Company. All items have been in there original packing and may require some cleaning lubricating please see photos as it is the best description. please take note of the handle/knob as there is wear to the finish from sitting.
